Going to school today was seriously a pain in the ass. First, I woke up late and got to my environmental science class late missing a pop quiz at the beginning of class. To make things better, I forgot my lunch, having to buy one from the café, and while getting in line, some kid tripped and his sandwich went all over me. And let’s not forget how I didn’t have any extra clothes so I had to stay in my soiled attire for my next two classes I had today.

I was happy to go to my English Literature class because Shawn would be in there, but I was still upset once again because I forgot to read the story that we were supposed to have read for discussion today. As I walked in the room, everyone stared at me. Maybe it was the excessive amount of ketchup on my shirt, or maybe the fact that there was mayonnaise in my hair, but it was most likely that I just tripped over the trashcan coming through the door and threw my books across the room.

Letting out a grunt and not wanting to get up, I just laid there for a minute not looking up to spare myself some dignity. I never realized how uncomfortable this carpet was, but I guess that’s because I usually don’t lay on it and my shoes are the only thing it comes in contact with.

Before I could do anything more with my situation on the ground, the door opened once again letting another person in the room, but before I had time to register what was about to happen, the person who came in tripped over me, spilling their coffee on me in the process, and then rolled next to me so that they were on their back while I was still on my stomach. When I looked over to see who had just given me an extra ingredient to my outfit, I knew this day couldn’t get any worse.

“Ms. Bridge, is there any reason you are on the floor and in turn had me accompany you?” my teacher asked after flicking her hair out of her face.

“Well,” I started to say as I stood up, “I’ve just been having one of those days where it seems everything is going wrong and I apologize for bringing you down with me. No pun intended.”

My teacher gave me a once over after brushing off the “dirt” from the floor from her pants and told me to gather my book and take a seat. I’m surprised I wasn’t in more trouble, especially since I had just made a fool out of both of us in the front of the room, but I didn’t question it as I collected my last book and sat at my desk. I laid my head down on my arms letting out a large breath debating if suffering through these next two classes were really worth it today.

“What? No hello for me?” I hear Shawn say next to me which makes me look up not really taking notice to his presence when I came in. I rolled my eyes at him before I responded in a tone that was angered by his lack of help. “Why the hell didn’t you help me up there? I was like a flopping fish and you just sat there and watched me fail?”

He laughed at my tone thinking this whole situation was hilarious though I was having none of that. I was livid at him for not rescuing me in the slightest up there, though none of it had been his fault, so not wanting to urk him on with the jokes, I put my head back on my arms still frustrated.

“Oh come on Andy! I’m sorry, okay? And to prove to you that I’m sorry, I will lend you my hoodie so that you don’t smell like a fungus anymore. It’s a win win for the both of us really,” Shawn told me before standing up to slip his hoodie off for me. As I looked up to face him again, his shirt rode up in the front, from the pull of the hoodie, showing his v-lines that looked very tempting to stare at. Sadly, his shirt came back down as he ruffled his hair in order to fix it before he handed over the article of clothing. I gave him a closed mouth smile before excusing myself from the room to change in private. Really the bathroom isn’t that private, but I didn’t have much time to get this gunk out of my hair from earlier so I was going to attempt to do so.
