Nakia's Perspective

I wake up in my bed. My blanket on the floor and my cat laying on it. I sit up from my bed and put my feet on the cold tiles of the floor. My head pounding from staying up so late. I reach under pillow and grab my phone turning it on. I check the time, 6:50. I sigh, remembering I have school today. I go to snapchat, a text from Tenzin is the only thing that shows up.

"Thanks for stopping by :3" His text read.

A smirks creeps across my face. I begin typing back.

"Lol np" it sends as his little bitmoji face pops up.

The bitmoji's smile presenting him perfectly, even having freckles. His face dips down, indicating he is typing. I wait for 5 minutes before I turn off my phone.

I walk over to my mirror, my hair messy and my makeup smudged. I make a gross face at myself, upset I didn't wash my face. Ew. Do I actually look like that when I wake up? I rub my eyes, smearing my mess of a face even more. I look at myself in the mirror.

"God, I hate myself." I quietly say.

I smile. I love motivational support for myself in the morning. I tilt my head back, pulling my hair and twisting it into a messy bun. I grab a black shirt from my messy pile of clothes, putting it on over my bra. I pull off my sweatpants, a cold breeze spreading goosebumps across my legs. I grab a pair of jeans from the pile and squeeze into them. I slide my phone into my back pocket.

I pick my mascara off the floor, opening it. I carefully apply it to my eyes. I pick lip gloss off the floor as well. I open it, my nose flooding with the artificial scent of strawberries. I turn around, looking at my back in the mirror.

I sigh, turning towards the door. While walking, I look at my watch. 7:15, almost time to go. I grab a donut and a 10 dollar bill and walk to Jesse's house. Jesse is my girlfriend. She has only gone to our highschool for a year but I already know her so well.

I open up the door, walking down the carpeted stairs. Step Step. I walk down every creaky stair and make it outside. A freezing gust of wind greeting me. I begin walking down the street.

Putting my earbuds into my ears, I listen to Panic! At The Disco, filling my head with its melodies. It's a long walk to Jessi's house, I don't mind it though.

After 25 minutes I finally made it to Jessi's house. I only go through the back door to her house, I'm not sure why, I just do.

The screen door opens with a creak. I grab the door handle and twist, it sticks. Must be locked. What reason would she have for locking the door? Maybe she slept in by accident. I squeeze my hand into a fist and hit my knuckles off the door. Knock Knock Knock. I hear something fall over inside.

"Just a minute!" I hear Jessi shout from inside.

For a brief moment I stand alone in the cold, nothing but silence to be heard.

The lock of the door clicks. Jessi opens the door, a creak louder than the one previous. She looked me in the eyes, smiling. Her curly black hair hangs just past her ears. She wore no makeup, like usual. She likes spending her time alone, away from everything.

"Hey!" She said enthusiastically.

"Hey," I began. "Ready to go?" I asked, tilting my head slightly.
