¨Sheriff is everything alright, it sounds like a riot is going on out there¨ Paloma exclaimed with worry laced in her voice. Tashtego let out a sigh as he heard the young woman's spanish accent, turning to her he gave her a look of mixed feelings. Outside officers and a few townsfolk were discussing plans and loading weapons into trucks, he knew telling her would send her into hysteria so he lied.

¨ its nothin', an inmate escaped and he on the run...its best if you get going...¨ Tashtego lied, urging the young woman out the store and to the parking lot. ¨Lock your doors and whatever you do, don't go outside for nothin´!¨ He instructed, Paloma mounted her horse sidesaddle style. She nodded, letting out a small chirp and the horse trotted forward with a snort, Tashtego watched until she was out of sight before heading back to the group like a mad man.

Paloma sighed to herself as she passed through town, her horse Helado nickered a bit as they were left to travel alone in the dark. They passed houses and fields before nearing the old Fuentes farm, everything peaceful and calm.

23 years had passed since the day that  she saw the figure, altho she believed it was her imagination run wild. For the entire time she only recalled two large dragon like wings... probably just a toy she had. Joaquin had moved out of the house when their parents passed, leaving the job of a rancher in her hands. When asking her brother about the memory he would simply shrug ans pretend she never asked the question, she didn't know why but he felt almost... uncomfortable.

It was only a yard or two away when Paloma noticed an old truck in the middle of a field, a man was laying down as still as a rock. Being a good samaritan she was Paloma nudged Helado to the direction of the man, worry persisted in her more than fear.

¨Excuse me...sir?¨ She called out to the man, no movement ¨Sir are you alright…?¨. The man still made no movement, not even a noise came forth, and at that she dismounted as soon as her horse was a few feet away. ¨Sir…?¨ Paloma whispered, as she took a good look of the man, she instantly regretted the decision.

Paloma covered her mouth, a soft gasp of horror escaped her lips. The man had a look of terror on his face, blood pooled out from the back of his head where a shuriken had struck him blood flowed like a stream sliding onto the grass. The sound of wings and a thud came from the truck, looking up she laid her eyes on a tall masculine figure with a tattered trench coat, an old brown hat, and large bat like wings… that was no man.Paloma quickly swung herself onto the saddle, glaring at the figure as his blue eyes pierced her brown ones. He let out a soft taunting growl as he tilted his head to the side, making it look as if he was checking her out, then after a moment of thought he flapped his wings and ascended into the sky like a jet.

Helado reared up and let out a frightened winnie, bursting into a gallop in the direction of the farm. The figure grinned, following the two like a cat chasing a mouse, he waited until they passed the gates and dove down in a blur. He tackled her off the large animal, gliding down to the grassy yard in the cover of a few willow trees, Paloma kicked him in attempt to free herself but got only a hiss of anger as a reply.

She looked up at him in annoyance and stopped struggling, her expression contorted to one of anger ¨Are you always this charming or am I just lucky….¨ She sarcastically remarked. He did not reply, instead he gingerly tilted her head from side to side, then tilted her head up to sniff her neck. He inhaled her scent a couple times, his eyes widening in amazement, rolling back in his head for a moment as he buried his neck in the crook of her neck, relishing her scent that smelled oh so sensational.

Paloma couldn't help but feel like he was invading her space, and as he nuzzled his cheek against her neck she pushed him away, scooting a foot or two from him. ¨Leave some space for Jesus!¨ She scolded, the creature just sat on his knees dumbfounded, looking at her like a puppy before tackling her yet again.

He held her close to his frame as he buried his face into the crook of her neck, still relishing in her glorious scent. Paloma yet again pushed him away, giving him a look of annoyance which he returned kindly. She quickly stood up, so did he, his eyes not leaving her. They continued to stare at each other for a while, the sound of ravens and crows mixed with the distant neighing of a horse.

Paloma glared, walking away with a stride to the plantation house. The creature followed, annoyed that she wasn't giving into him. As she stepped inside he forced himself after her, shutting the door behind him with a loud bang and pinning the woman against a wall. He hissed as she wriggled, tilting her chin up to look at him. Paloma glared with rage at him, to his great amusement he made her nervous.

His clawed frill spread open and he hissed even louder, leaning down towards her. Paloma stood still for a few seconds, she had to admit it creeped her out very much, so much that she shivered a bit. To his utter satisfaction he decided to go a bit further, slowly he licked her next, smirking as she trembled. Paloma slightly blushed at the warm slimy sensation, she could feel him smirking and wanted to wipe it off. He continued, going to her jaw and then-

Smack!

Paloma had pushed him off and smacked the living daylights out of him, running up the stairs and to her room, the creature shook his head from the sudden assault to his face and growled, following her. Paloma shut her door and opened the window, but before climbing out she thought for a moment. He would surely catch her on foot, and Helado must be tired. Loud footsteps reached her ears, quickly she got into wardrobe and shut the doors gently, hoping he was as stupid as he seemed to be.

The bedroom door quickly opened, the creature scanned the room with his eyes and made his way to the window. He sniffed the air, she certainly has not climbed out, the scent was far too strong, taking a few more sniffs he grinned, she was to his right. His clawed frill rested down on his head again as he walked to the large wardrobe, whistling his signature tune slowly.

Paloma held her breath, trembling as she could hear him get closer to her hiding place. As he placed his clawed hands on the door knobs he stopped whistling, and with great force he swung the doors open, grabbing the young woman by her waist and slinging her over his shoulder. She kicked and screamed to be let go as he made his way to the window, quickly he jumped out of the window and his bat wings unfurled. He darted into the sky with his prize in hand who had fainted, he chuckled thinking about how she made his game of cat and mouse interesting. Maybe...just maybe he would toy with her for a while longer.
