(Hey guys, I decided to try rewriting it! Tell me if its good, I want to know. By the way, thank you for all your uplifting comments, I appreciate them!)

A grand gathering of friends was hosted at one of the finest places in Poho, although it had it's history of slavery it was turned into a rich home with Hispanic culture and family flair.  Upstairs in a room overlooking the setting sun was a boy named Joaquin and his baby  sister.

Joaquin didn't like gatherings and only wanted to be alone, most of the time he talked to his sister just to kill time.

"...it was beautiful outside! You should have seen the horses Paloma, one day...I'll get you a horse of your own!" He exclaimed, his baby sister giggling as he showed her the stuffed animal horse he bought her.

"Joaquin, the dogs are barking, can you go check on them?" His mother called from downstairs "si ma!" He replied, rushing out of the room, accidentally bumping the phonograph , leaving baby Paloma alone.

Now, I don't care what the weather man says
When the weatherman says it's raining
You'll never hear me complaining, I'm certain the sun will shine
I don't care how the weather vane points
When the weather vane points to gloomy
It's gotta be sunny to me, when your eyes look into mine

A gust of wind filled the room with the sounds of heavy footsteps and a shadowy figure approached the crib, his icy cold blue eyes scanned over the infant as if looking for something. Paloma smiled, her eyes showing no dear whatsoever. The creature looked at the infant in confusion, he was a monster, why was she not in tears? In response he leaned forward and growled a bit, unfortunately for him she only reached out and cooed, he retracted a bit and tilted his head. His wings folded up and tucked themselves quietly.

Jeepers Creepers, where'd ya get those peepers?
Jeepers Creepers, where'd ya get those eyes?
Gosh all git up, how'd they get so lit up?
Gosh all git up, how'd they get that size?

Paloma giggled, triggering a smirk from the docile demon. He stroked her hair gently as he thought to himself. She was so tiny, a fragile thing that even he himself would not dare hurt. Looking into her eyes he could feel warmth and love, catching her scent he could smell what would be described as soothing mint and camomile. It relaxed him so much that for a second he forgot what his objective.

Not long after he began thinking had the sounds of Joaquins footsteps sounded, quickly looking around  he hid behind the door, Joaquin entered with a grin.

"I'm back!" The boy chirpped, taking off his necklace and holding it above baby Paloma who looked at it with great interest.

Golly gee! When you turn those heaters on, woe is me
Got to get my cheaters on, Jeepers Creepers
Where'd ya get those peepers? On, those weepers

The demons eyes widened in anger and amazement, right in the boys hands was something the creature wanted. Joaquin picked up the small infant, giggling with her happily.

Slowly the demon aproched the boy, when he got within two feet he took out his ax and raised it above his head. Joaquin turned around, as he did his expression turned to pure horror.

"PAPA!!!" Joaquin screamed, holding Paloma close.

How they hypnotize, where'd ya get those eyes?
Where'd ya get those eyes?

The creature looked into the eyes of the now wailing infant, frightened at the sudden cries. As a bunch footsteps  began pounding the stairs he took in the scent of the children, rushed to and jumped out the window, his wings lifting him up into the now darkened sky.

Where'd cha ya get those eyes?
