Chapter 2
Gwendolyn was lying on her bed waiting as patiently as she could (which wasn't very patient at all) for the sweet sound of Sam's and Renee's voice to signalise they were ready. The girls had decided that they would go out for drinks on Friday night. It had been Gwen's idea, and it took a bit of time for the others to agree...⋅⟡ ♡ ⟡⋅..
When Gwen issued the idea it was on Tuesday, approximately (according to Renee) a week before Basil would be visiting Connie. They were quite happily eating take out that Cat had so graciously delivered on the way home from her work.
"We should go somewhere this Friday," Gwen had stated looking distastefully at her bowel of noodles.
"That sounds actually really nice," Renee said poking the sweet and sour noodles that she had requested.
Cat and Sam exchanged a quick glance at each other as if having a conversation.
"I think I may have something on," Cat said glancing around the room as if to say 'is it really necessary we go somewhere?'
"I don't think I can either," Sam said shrugging her shoulders.
"Samantha and Catherine!" Gwen said using that dismissive motherly tone, causing Renee to stifle a laugh, "WE never go anywhere, WE haven't been anywhere in ages and since WE are all free Friday I believe WE should go"
"Gwen is right plus we can invite Anderson, John and Ben," Renee chimed in, "Plus we can't just live on takeout"
"WE ARE NOT TAKING ANDERSON!" Cat yelled, the idea seemed to repulse her to a high extent.
"Fine we will go out on Friday," Sam said finalising the decision.

Which bought us back to Gwen lying on her bed complaining about how they take forever, soon they all came out, Renee was wearing a simple mini dress, Sam in some jeans and top and Cat was wearing a red top with a black skirt and long socks. Gwen herself was wearing a nice top, jeans and a jacket.
"So, I talked to John he said that he would meet us there," Gwen said as they filed out of the apartment in a sluggish pace.
"How nice of him, he has such a busy life," Sam said elbowing Gwen.
"THE UBER SHOULD BE HERE!" Renee yelled running down the halls then repeatively pressing the elevator buttons until it dunged.
"Come on" Cat said nudging Sam and Gwen along.
..⋅⟡ ♡ ⟡⋅..
The Uber car was a simple but nice Mazda 3, it had a very specific smell of Axe deodorant, it was a quick ten minute drive but if they had walked it would have taken much longer, with them nearly getting run over every five seconds. The car pulled up in front of a diner with a neon glowing sign. They filed out of the car to recognise a black Lexus, which they recognised as John's.
"Why does he borrow my money if he has enough to pay for a Lexus?," Renee said rolling her eyes a bit.
"I honestly have no clue," replied Gwen who had known John longer then the other three.
"Shall we go in?" Cat asked sighing very intensely.

Sam got to decide the table they sat and to Renee's disapointment, they ended up sitting at a table which was near the window which was brightly illuminated with yellow neon lights.
"So, how are you all?" John said as they sat down at the table, Renee immediately grabbing for the menus to hand around the table.
"Good, also Connie told me to say 'Hi' from her," Renee said whilst deep in thought over what meal to order.
