Maria's POV

"Foo Fighters?" I asked with a sly expression.

"Hell Yeah!" Alex replied looking like he was in a state of utter joyfulness.(by the way Joy Division is an awesome group)

"Fall Out Boy?" he asked with a certain sparkle presenting itself in his dark brown eyes.

"Of course! No one can sing like Patrick Stump!" answering in an extremely giddy tone because Fall Out Boy also has a certain someone named Pete Wentz in it. Who just happened to have been my major crush when I was younger.

"Blink 182?" I inquired hopefully.

"'The Rock Show' is one of my favorite songs of all time!" I can feel his happiness grow as our conversation advances.

"Me too!" I almost scream out of sheer excitement because I have found my other half... in a friend kind of way....

"Rise Against?" he asks biting his lip in anticipation.

"Was that even suppose to be a question, or was it rhetorical because the answer is obviously yes." I explain with major emphases on each word, but making sure he understands my reasoning for my actions of exaggeration. Out of the blue I feel two muscly arms go around my waist and a chest meet mine as I am lifted into the air and spun around.

"Ahh! Alex what are you doing?!" I exclaim as I am still being spun around like in the romantic movies when the two people in love haven't seen each other in forever. "I'm being me. You told me to act like myself, so I am." he retorts with a cheeky smile.

"So being you implies lifting me into the air all the time?" I ask fighting off a full face grin purely because he is so happy right now, and I would like to know if it is the same reason I feel like this on the inside. "Yes" he simply implies looking as arrogant as ever, and I don't mean that as an insult. "I see someone has mastered the magic of making Mar smile in a short amount of time" I can hear the smirk bleeding through Vals words as plain as an electric guitar solo blasting through a silent room.

"I'VE GOT THE MAGIC IN ME!!!!!" Alex starts singing nearly at the top of his lungs while spinning around looking utterly ridiculous, but quite content with himself. My whole body begins to shake as laughter ripples through my bones. Looking over I see Valerie is in a similar predicament as she is almost on her knees holding her stomach  trying to catch a breath.

"YOU'VE GOT THE MUSIC MAGIC!" I exclaim taking on a louder tone of voice to match his earlier singing. "DAMN STRAIGHT!" he proceeds to scream over the entire cafeteria and for once in my life I don't care about all the people staring. I am pulled out of my state of new found confidence by a hand on my shoulder. Turning to identify the stray appendage I find it attached to a certain bad ass Latino sporting her classic smirk.

"Seems like love is in the air tonight" she says wiggling her eyebrows in a mock seductive manner. "Technically it's day time" I say confidently while I can feel my cheeks turning pink. "Day time night time, whatever. There's still love in the air" Valerie explains while letting a shit eating grin consume her features. "Shut up" I said rolling my eyes like a stereotypical teenager in denial. "Hmmm.." Val smirks as if she knows that I have just surrendered the information she already has known for awhile.

Ding, Ding, Ding

"SCHOOL IS OUT FOR SUMMER! SCHOOL IS OUT FOREVER!" I sing as the last bell of the day sounds. "More like for the weekend" Alex says giggling. "Well aren't you a negative Nancy" I exclaim sticking my tongue out like a five year old that's not getting their way. "I sure hope I'm not a Nancy because then my entire life has been a lie" he ends his statement with a shocked expression. "Sooooo dramatic" I inquire while rolling my eyes sarcastically.

We pick up our things from sixth period and walk to our lockers to go home for the weekend. As we pack away our books in our canvas book bags Val stops by looking ever so chipper. I give her a look silently asking her what's she up too. She send me a look back saying 'why can't I just be happy once in awhile'. I let the mysterious behavior pass my radar trying to think positive. Maybe she is just happy?

"Hey you two lovebirds want to check out what I found in the back room of the library?" she questions us with a smile a bit too bright to be genuine for her. "What'd you find Val?" I ask inquisitively. "Just a bunch of dusty records I think one had a picture of a prism with a rainbow coming out of one side" she state nonchalantly. "DARK SIDE OF THE MOON" Alex and I scream at the same time while taking off in the direction of the library.

Alex stops and bends down motioning for me to climb on his back. "You're slow hop on!" he exclaims with a lopsided smile. I hop on mentally hopping I am not too heavy. That thought is blown out of the water when he blasts down the hallways in record time leaving us standing in the musty back room of the library waiting for Valerie.

"Val!" I scream impatiently. I want to see the records! I walk out of the back room into a silent library with not a person in sight. I look to the front doors of the library when a see a backpack with a note on it in Val's hand writing.

SUCKERS!!! The back pack is full of water and snacks from the vending machines. I thought the love doves could use a honey moon.

                                                                                                        -Love Val   ;)
