the day you gave me the mixtape was a day i would never forget.
you explained that it would reveal everything, tell me everything, make me understand everything. so i gave it a listen, and i heard;
a famed yet vintage song, about how the guy got the girl, how they got their happily ever after, the snare drum synced with my heartbeat.
piano keys playing with elegance and ease, tuned to the sound of midnight purple.
a song i had never heard of, yet my chest heaved as it triggered a bullet of memories that bled through the polaroids of you and i.
your fingers strumming softly along to your sandpaper voice, struggling to project because of the blooming flowers in your lungs.
all of a sudden, light poured from the stained glass window, and paintings began to dance.
and there you were, saturated in sunrise.
i knew, i knew,
everything, and everything more.
