Hope
"Nath." My best friend, Atasha, called out as I walked out of the hospital.
Since there was nothing serious about my fainting I am able to leave the same day I got admitted.
"Atasha." My weak voice was shattering as I ran to hug my best friend.
"It's okay it's okay." I sobbed and broke down in her arms.
Atasha was probably the person, aside from my sister, I'd go to in times of trouble.
It wasn't like she was my only friend but I felt compelled to tell her everything happening in my life.
"Come I'll take you home." I shook my head.
"I don't want to go home. That house was where I spent my days with my sister." I begun sobbing harder.
Flashes of happy memories with my sister drew itself on my mind. Danielle is the person who means the most to me. Having been raised in a foster home my sister was the pillar who kept me strong all these years. Everyday we hoped that our real parents would come get us but they didn't. We promised each other to move out of that foster home as soon as I'd have a job to support us and as soon as I got a job we did. Even though it was hard we managed to survive through each day with each other and now that I don't have her by my side I feel empty.
"Nath, Nath." Atasha nudged me as I was lost in my thoughts.
"Let's just have lunch okay?" She offered and I smiled at her faintly.

"How's the salad?" Atasha said sarcastically noting how I haven't even laid a finger in my food.
"Oh." I decided to take a bite out of it but right now everything is plain bland.
"Are you sure you're alright?" She said out of sympathy.
I nodded.
I chowed down my food for the sake of showing respect to Atasha who stayed with me as we bought food.
"I'll head somewhere first. Is it okay?" I push my empty plate and politely asked her.
"Sure." She smiled and I stood up.
"I'll call you later." Nodding in agreement she continued munching her food as I walked out the restaurant.

I looked around hoping to find a familiar face but I didn't.
"Uhm hello is there an officer named Alexander here?" I walked up the the front desk and ask a stout officer who was sitting down, typing on his monitor.
"Dexter to Alex" He pressed a bottom on his hand held walkie talkie which was resting on his desk.
"Go ahead" I perked up when I heard Lex's voice over the walkie talkie.
"Someone's looking for you over." It's fascinating to hear an actual walkie talkie conversation.
"Copy over." Without a matter of second a door on my right opened and there stood Lex.
Why are they talking on the walkie talkie when he's literally in the same floor as him?
"Hey Nath." He smiled and his dimple begun showing.
"Lex is there any update?" He walked towards me as I spoke and I had a hard time having to look up at him with his height.
"Well..." He begun walking and I followed him as we made our exit out of the building.
"Luckily we were able to find a CCTV filming wight where the incident had occurred." My eyes lit up completely as he narrated the news.
"Good news is you're not a suspect anymore since you were seen and what you told us matched the recording." He seemed happy about the news but there was hesitance in his tone.
"The suspect?" I hoped with my fingers crossed that it could've at lease caught a glimpse of the suspect.
"That's the bad news. Since it was dark and your house was the only source of light at that time only you were seen. Not even your sister was seen who was behind the light. Which meant whoever the suspect is he or she must've had great aim." My hopes were let down as he spoke about the bad news.
Out of context I begun crying again.
"Nath don't worry." He bent on his knees and rubbed my shoulder.
"We'll find the suspect." I looked up at him and saw his sincerity through his eyes.
Maybe he could be my hope.
My only hope to find the suspect and to have my questions answered.
