I trudge up to the school building along side a few other people who I don't recognize as friends.
My hair feels flat so I pull it up into a ponytail but loosen it up a bit to make it seem like I at least tried with it. I'm wearing my favorite pair of skinny jeans which I love because in a weird way they make my butt look good. I have on a plain black tshirt that fits tight enough and again I've worn my bright red ballet flats.
A few people say hey as I pass them in the hallway and some say more "Hey Carlin! Nice weekend?" Or "Hey! Hope you had a good weekend! I still wanna hangout sometime" they all say the same thing. 'I wanna hangout' or 'we should really hangout soon'. Obviously half these girls who practically beg to stay the night at my house only want my brother.
I walk up to my locker and put in the combination before opening it to retrieve my World Literature book and my notebook along with my journal I cursed at myself for leaving here on Friday. I normally have my journal with me at home and school....
With exactly three minutes until homeroom begins I start walking there. People run around me and one random guy with pitch black hair hits me pretty hard but nods and continues on his way. I call that rude.
To my surprise the class is almost full so I start walking towards the back of the room...
"Carlin Collins? Carlin Collins please come to the main office" I gulp. Never, not once, has my name been called over that intercom. It is a known fact at this school that if your name is announced like that then your in deep. It means you did something bad... Horrible. I remember a guy name Josh Turner. They found pot in his locker and bookbag! He's in a alternative school now.
My brain is emptied when I finally recognize my teacher repeatedly saying my name and all the eyes in the room on me while all their mouths hang almost to the floor. I feel like crying. I always imagined how scary it must be to have to go to the office, let alone be called there. Over the intercom!! But the scariest thing about this is I have no idea what I did.
I decide to be mature about this and I gulp before pacing myself back across the room and out the door. I speed walk down the hallway and before I know it I'm at the office door. I push the green button on the side of the door and a lady's voice speaks. "Name?"
"Carlin Collins" I gulp again then fear that she heard it.
"You may now enter" she sounds very intimidating.
But I enter anyways and she points towards the door at the back of the room.
On the side of the door is a sign that reads 'administrators office', I gulp before entering.
I'm more shocked by what I see inside the office then being called here in the first place! Taylor Crow smirks at me from the seat he's sitting in while Mrs. McLain, the principal, smiles politely at me from her place behind the desk.
"Please, take a seat Miss Collins," she gestures towards the only empty seat left in the room and I gulp before sitting next to Taylor.
"I imagine you know Mr. Crow,"
"Yea- I mean yes. We've met a few times,"
"Grand. I recently received a call from his mother requesting that you show him around the school today..." She says as more of a question than statement.
"Uh yea- I can do that!" I smile at her and try to ignore the feeling of Taylor's eyes on me.
"Perfect!" She claps her hands together. "Well, I've already provided him with all the information he needs and he has his schedule... I guess that's it! Have a lovely day," Taylor immediately stands up and I slowly follow behind him.
