Sage Sallyahel came out of nowhere in a flash of violet light, and she was delighted to realize that this was the perfect opportunity she had been dreaming about... she dashed forward and managed to catch Vallery from behind, a cruel and deadly strategy quickly forming in her mind.
"Hi, violet cloak!" Sallyahel gasped, choking Vallery with her left arm- "Did you miss me?"
Vallery grabbed Sallyahel's arm with both hands and pulled as hard as she could, but it was like fighting a bear and now the Sage was taking her backwards to gain some distance from the Wolf. The grasp relaxed a little when Sallyahel realized that she risked killing her hostage before time, maybe even tearing her head off if she was not delicate enough.
The characteristic smell of blood came from Sallyahel with great intensity, her purple cloak was torn apart in many places and she had taken severe scratches and cuts all over her body. The Sage gasped and cried from the terrible pain she was enduring, but her supernatural strength remained intact and her silvery sword was ready in her hand...
"N-no, rel... release me!" Vallery cried, trying to draw breath- "I want to... f-fight him!"
Catherine was screaming in the distance as she fought, Carrow growled many times, the axe scored a variety of futile impacts on the Wolf and very soon the sounds of battle came to a sudden end.
"Cat... Catherine!"
Vallery witnessed as Catherine collapsed and moved no more, there was an alarming amount of blood spreading on the snow around her and then came an awful silence broken only by the wind and Sallyahel gasping behind her. Carrow remained quiet for awhile, and then he turned around and stared at Sallyahel with those glowing violet eyes...
"I must give you some credit" Carrow said, advancing slowly towards them- "I really thought you were dead..."
"Not even in your dreams" Sallyahel replied, and now she held the sharp blade of her sword against Vallery's throat- "Tell me, Wolf... do you want your cub alive?"
"Release my daughter!"
"Come and get her yourself!"
Carrow charged with great rage, he performed an impossible jump towards them and what followed was an unbelievable vision, a sudden transformation so fast and vicious that Vallery would never forget it for the rest of her life... The great black Wolf came out of nowhere and the trees were shaken as it landed, the violet eyes glowing far more intensely than ever before.
The terrifying monster attacked with impossible speed, and Sallyahel smiled with great pride as she prepared for the final battle of her life...
"There must be Light in the Heavens..." Vallery whispered as she looked up at the sky, terrified and at the same time ready to die.
50-
Sallyahel concentrated all of the courage, reflexes and speed powers that she commanded, everything around her felt in slow motion as the monster drew closer and she managed to wait for the very last moment, despite the terrifying vision of the Wolf charging like a boulder straight at them...
She knew that it was her final and only chance to destroy this monster once and for all, and if she did not react at the perfect instant then everything would be a disaster.
The silver sword was aimed at the heart of the Wolf, the Sage gasped, Vallery closed her eyes...
Sallyahel tossed Vallery aside with her left hand alone, the Wolf was too close to react and the stabbing attack came like a silvery lightning with unstoppable accuracy... the blade pierced deep into the chest of the monster, and the growl of pain that followed could be be heard very far in the forest all around them.
