Chapter 24: Only Forever

Jasmine's POV

I smile as I hug Wilmer, the man who I believed was my father. Once I met my real father, I learned that even though someone could be your biological father, it does not make them your real father. My dad is Wilmer, my birth father is James, but that doesn't mean that Wilmer loves me any less. He said that he loves Mom too. Maybe we'll be like one big happy, messed-up, family. I know I would like that.

Mom and Dad are the best parents I could ask for and I am extremely grateful for both of them. Without them, I don't know where I would be now. Probably still far from anything I know.

Unfortunately, a few weeks later, I realize I have a problem. I started cutting while I was lost as a way to cope, but now I can't stop. I don't want to tell mom. Everything is going so well for her now, I don't want to ruin it. I'll just have to learn how to stop by myself. Well, that and enjoy my one big happy family.
