My body was bloody, and so were his claws.

The fight only just began a minute ago and I've already picked up on Grayson's fighting style. He's sloppy and hesitates before each step he takes, allowing me to dodge all of his moves at the last second. The only reason he wins these fights is because of his strength. Not because of skill. I however have both, and since I can't openly use my white wolf strength, I will use the techniques the Alpha has been teaching me.

"Not bad for a latent." Grayson quipps, taking a small step forward and aiming for a clean shot at my jaw. I dodge him and punch him in the stomach, then in the groin, making him fall to the ground. "Bad for a future Alpha." I retort.

"I see you've been training with my father." He says through his groans of pain as he gets back up slowly.

"I see you haven't."

He catches me off guard as he hits me square in the eye, then sweeps my legs out from under me. I fall with a thud on my back to the turf. He places his shoe on my chest and pushes down. This, combined with the air being knocked out of me from the fall makes it impossible to breathe.

I send a quick prayer to the Moon Goddess to give me the wisdom to get out of this mess without going all white wolf on him.

I grab his shoe and lift it up off my chest slightly, I finally breathe in and twist his foot until I hear something pop as he stumbles backward on one leg, allowing me to send him flying across the field. The crowd gasps as they see him fly helplessly over their heads, arms flailing in the air.

I watch in horror. I shouldn't have used that much strength.

As he begins to fall back to the ground I see him shift into his massive, dark gray wolf.

I gulp heavily. I can take him as a human. But if he's a wolf I won't be able to fight him without my strength, I might not be able to fight him as a human at all.

I watch as the crowd before me parts and Grayson's huge, snarling wolf stalks toward me like a predator with its prey.

I could feel the anger radiating off of him. I'm sure the entire student body felt it. They all took a few cautious steps back, making the ring bigger. He snarled and snapped his teeth at me menacingly. I felt like I was going to piss my pants.

I prayed, asking the Moon Goddess what I was supposed to do.

Grayson is clearly insane and the entire arrangement was to get me to shift. How am I supposed to knock him out or make him weak without shifting?

But I heard nothing from the Moon Goddess.

Suddenly, he came charging at me. I crouched down to the turf and pushed up on his chest/stomach as I extended my legs back up to a standing position. I threw him again, this time he landed only a few feet from me, and on his feet.

He began barking at me, and every time he barked, the ring of students chanted "shift".

I begged the Moon Goddess to tell me what I should do.

My birthday was only a few days away and my identity would be reveled to the whole world by then. Maybe revealing my identity to this pack just a few days ahead of schedule wouldn't be so bad.

But as Grayson came charging at me again, I changed my mind.

He tackled me to the ground, scratching me deeply with his claws. I screamed out in pain and shoved him off me. I crawled away from him quickly and got to my feet. My body was bloody, and so were his claws. I turned quickly and ran from the field, using just a bit of my white wolf speed.

I ran past the ring and jumped the fence, I slid down the hill, scratching myself on rocks on the way down, however I wouldn't actually feel it until after the adrenaline rush simmered down.
