Dear World,
Let me tell you, or rather remind you, the story of a girl who has been forgotten in wisps of time and blurs of reality.
Once upon a time, there was a young girl, so innocent and different. She had a wild imagination that took her beyond our universe, a mind afraid of the wicked world around her, and a heart that loves so dearly and desperately. More than anything, she just wanted to have an adventure and live a remembered life.
And she did live an adventure, though it wasn't anything like she imagined.
There was a time when she didn't care what others thought, a time when someone was always there for her, a time when it was okay to be different.
However, time flew and passed her by, and somewhere along that line that reality was lost.
Suddenly, she found herself with a group of fake friends, she discovered that the things she adored were considered "not cool," she found herself faking smiles and abandoning her enjoyment for the sole purpose of making others like her.
Friends are supposed to be people who bring a smile to your face and support you when you need it most, not people who make you feel miserable and judge your every move.
Parents are people who are supposed to help and guide you through life, not people who take completely control over your life and make you feel worthless every time you mess up.
Love is supposed to be an learning experience of desire and happiness and yearning, not something that makes you feel even more lost and empty.
She was a girl who's kind and loving. Not quite the prettiest or the most exceptional or completely normal, but good enough for her. However, these insecurities eventually got to her, and, despite hating other's expectations, she wove herself a mask to where.
A mask that would make her popular, that would hide her supposed flaws and pain, that would create the illusion of a perfect teenager.
She crafted so eloquently, so perfectly, that it fooled everyone around her. And she wore it so often that, eventually, she fooled herself.
Nobody came to save her, and she eventually lost herself.
The End
Or perhaps, this wasn't the end-but rather the start-of her tedious journey. A journey no one should be forced to venture alone.
Sad thing is, I completely understand this girl, and the struggle she has been forced to go through.
Why?
Well, because this is the story of my life. And not just my life, I'm sure. I'm sure that, out there, there are many others who feel these very emotions. People who are different, judged, pressured, and hiding.
Perhaps, you are one of these people. And, if you are, please, be yourself. Be your authentic, amazing self. Don't be afraid to seek help, and help those who need help.
No matter who you are, I understand you and I am here for you.
Sincerely,
@cozySweetheart
