I was awaken by a very excited Hayley straddling my duvet covered torso shaking me whilst shouting "It's snowed, it's snowed!". I groaned and slowly opened my eyes only too be met with blinding light. I groaned again and tried to bury my head under the covers only to be met with disappointment when I couldn't. "Come on Y/N! Wake up, it's snowed!" I gave into Hayley's request knowing she would never let me go back to sleep now so, I slowly opened my eyes and let them adjust the the change in light. When my vision started to clear, I was met with an adorable looking Hayley, dressed in her Christmas onesie, beaming down at me. She then proceeded to place small kisses all over my head and face. I sighed then said "Ok, show me this snow then."
Hayley literally dragged me out from under the duvet and out of bed by my right arm. I stumbled trying to regain my balance as Hayley showed me the substantial amount of snow that was covering the street outside. There was at least 12 inches of snow, maybe more. "Let's go and play!" She said wrapping her arms around my waist and placing kisses along my bare shoulder and neck. The inner child in me was bursting with excitement but I tried to play it cool and appear to not really be bothered. "Fine." I fake groaned.
In less than 10 minutes Hayley was dressed and ready to go. I swear that was the fastest I have ever seen her get ready in the morning ever. Hayley took my hand and lead me out the door and towards the local park. We walked gloved hand in gloved hand talking and enjoying the suburbs of New York completely covered in crisp white snow. Hayley then said "I'm just going to make a de-tour, I won't be a second." and walked towards the local store. I looked at her suspiciously but followed her anyway. "What have you come for?" I asked, confused as to why we were her when she wanted to go to the park. "You'll see." Hayley replied with a mischievous smile on her lips. I followed her up and down the numerous isles filled to the brim with mostly pointless stuff. She then stopped in front of a large stack of sledges. "No. No way. You are not going to buy one." Hayley ignored my comment and started to move the sledges to find the colour she wanted. "Seriously? You're buying a sledge? Your a fully grown adult." She just smiled at me, pecked my lips and said "What colour do you want?". "No. You can get one but there's no way I'm getting one." Hayley just picked up two pink sledges and started to walk towards the tills. "Hayley are you actually buying them?". "Oh course I am, it will be fun. Trust me." she said with a smirk on her face.
6 hours and possibly minor frost bite later, it turns out sledging is actually pretty fun, even though we were the oldest people there.
