At first we weren't sure until the ground at midnight gave birth to several escaping demons at once, those of which looked like scared little humans with animal parts that scampered away. There it wasm the thiong of my visuion that they built a wall around, the Break. It looked different somehow. Impaired. Ruined.

"Alriiiight!" Ace called. "I want the Extants to seal this with their elements. The rest of us will guard them." He glanced at Finn. "You have an element, so we'll count you among the ones who need to seal this."

He nodded.

We got to work. Our hands wavered over the thing, and slowly, a trail of our elements swirled into one.The bright golden light of Finn's elecricity. The silver swirl of my air. The dark solid of Dillan's shadow. The bright flickering of Mary's fire.

That's when the demons came out, Salt and Gary at once with the intent of either stopping or killing us. I panicked a bit, but it wasn't my job to fight.

At this point in time, I didn't need to focus on my powers. So instead I just stressed myself out as I watched the people I love attack demons and their minions. Mun came to a close call, Oliver got a wound in his arm. How nerve wracking to watch,

"Almost done!"

I put my hanbds on either side of it, energy flowing out of me, I could feel it now, liuke a door nearing its close. I glanced up at Mary, Dillan, and Finn. They wore expressions of terror.

Except for Mary, who still had to concentrate.

It all happened at once. Each demon was sucked back into the Break, back into the spaces right under our palms.

I looked at no one in particular, jaw dropping.

"We did it. We fixed the Break."

With this came the realization that I was back to a life of crime on the run, But now, it was best to pretend to share in the excitement.
