Girl of Glass
Entry #1
I was so stupid. It's all my fault. I saw the car coming. "There was nothing you could have done." I'm tired of hearing those words. They're wrong for thinking that. I could have stopped it. I keep telling them that I saw the car coming, I could have warned my family. I could have warned them all and then I wouldn't be all alone. But I didn't. I chose not to point out the car swerving on the other side of the road. "If I would have said something then they would still be here!" I had said that line so many times that it became almost automatic. I guess I should provide a bit of a backstory.
After a delightful dinner out, the [Last Name] family decided to start their trek home as it was getting quite late and the youngest of the family was getting tired. After getting [Little Brother's Name (ex. Jasper)] strapped into his car seat the happy family set off. A light banter made its way through the car which consisted of going over the topics discussed at dinner and the occasional ask for a change in the radio station from [Name]. If someone were to describe this family in one word it would be loving. As the car ride continued [Little Brother's Name] eventually fell asleep which caused the noises in the car to soften. Becoming a bit drowsy herself [Name] laid her head on the window. As the scenery passed by she found herself becoming more and more drowsy. On the verge of sleep [Name] noticed a car on the other side of the road driving strangely although her tired self brushed it off as nothing. Seconds later the car made contact with theirs and then, the world became void.
When I woke up it felt as if I was floating but that quickly faded, replaced with an ache that reverberated throughout my whole body. When I opened my eyes I was met with an empty hospital room. I could hear faint whispers to my left so I flopped my head in that direction. Everything hurt. Just outside of the door, which was in the corner of the room, I could see my aunt speaking with what looked like a doctor. What could she be doing here? Isn't she in Japan? I thought to myself then it hit me. The car. My aunt nodded her head in what seemed to be an indication that she understood whatever the doctor was saying. She thanked the doctor and proceeded to make her way back into the small room. Upon noticing my awaken state she quickly called for the doctor who had only just begun his walk to who knows where.
Once he was close enough to my bed he began doing various tests that one might experience when having a checkup. During this, he was spouting many things to a nurse who stood nearby with a clipboard. This went on for a minute or two until they said that they had gotten all the information they had needed for the time being and would be back later to run a few more tests. After they had left the room, and respectfully closed the door I spoke for the first time in what seemed like ages.
"Where is everyone?" I asked her, voice hoarse. Her already depressed faced turned into an even more upset one.
She took a deep breath, sat down, and spoke. "[Name]... You're the only one left." Her words hit me like a ton of bricks.
"N-no... I..." A wave of sobs hit me. They racked through me, making my body ache in pain. "W-Why?" I stammered. "Wh-y only m-me?" My aunt didn't respond, instead, she enveloped me in an awkward one-sided hug letting me cry to my heart's content.
"[Name], listen to me." Eventually, she pulled away and sat back into her chair which was placed right beside my bed. "Once you are able to, I'm going to take you back to Japan with me. Alright?" I nodded in understanding, tears threatening to fall. In all honesty, I didn't care that I was going to Japan with her, I also didn't think that I could explain what had happened to any my friends.
My aunt then pulled me back into a hug and that's how we stayed for awhile. I felt so fragile, like a girl made of glass. I was a girl of glass and I felt like I was cracking. I continued to sob my heart out until I eventually drifted into sleep.
Hi there! I just want to say a few things real quick so here goes nothin'. So I really want for people to help me out with this story, I don't really know where exactly this story is going and I don't want for the story to just make me pleased. Now I'd love to get a co-author or editor but I don't really know how any of that will work out because I've only ever posted one fanfiction before and it was on a completely different website. What I am trying to say is please contact me and/or comment, it would really help. I also don't own shit so yeah... Oh, and cover drawing ain't mine, although I did do more editing on it then I should have. I do plan to make chapters much longer than this and author's notes much shorter. Bye!
PS The picture above was the other choice I had for a cover. Just thought you might want to know.
