A Toast

To what do we own the pleasure tonight

Yesterday we own it to youth and beauty

Bidding each and everyone at the table a beautiful night

The other day to health and knowledge

Crossing our hearts and sipping away our worries

A toast to forget the one at home

Home alone she pleases herself

Home alone she is the trophy wife

And home alone she's never been so alone

To what do we own the night

When just the other night we own it to youth and power

I won't be sharing if you not willing

Just for tonight let us forget

The speech is blurry as we chuckle away our worries

In the morning the goodbye kiss was the final straw

Those same lips, that same pressure

She knows what he does not, feel what he cannot, and want what he don't have

He put on an act  but she's no fool, lies, but  his tongue got  caught up

So he swears, and she believes

The kids know more than they show

The quiet game became their gateway

On their parents' behave, they rely they excuses

The kids are hurting more than they know

The pleasure tonight is own with lies and honesty

The facade under the plate of our love

The pleasure tonight is own to all the beautiful things which we have created

And tonight one by one, second to ash, they come crashing down

To that smile, you wore until that very day I came home in chains

To that kiss, when I went back for a seconds

Or that time you said you loved me and I look back

The pleasure is own to you and me

Screaming, dying, we are the perfect storm

To what do we own the pleasure tonight

Laughter, regrets

Yesterday we own it to youth and beauty

Bidding each and everyone at the table a beautiful night

The other day to health and knowledge

A toast to forget the one at home

Home alone she pleases herself

Home alone she never wanted this

And home alone she's never been so alone

And home alone she's never been so alone
