"Higher Zed! Higher!" Zoey cheered. Zed pulled the swing back that Zoey was swinging on. He smiled. He saw Addison on the other side of the fence hanging out with Bree. They were practicing cheers for the next football game. Eliza was working on some new experiment nearby. He saw it zap and flash slightly.
"Hey zoey. I'll be right back." Zed told his little sister. She nodded her head. Zed walked over to Eliza.
"Whatcha working on?" He asked. Eliza smiled.
"It's supposed to be a device that helps us remember more things better. It's a memory device. But for some reason it's not doing that. It's acting more like a sleeping device. I experimented on a mouse and it made it fall asleep. The bad part is, when it woke up, it forgot everything. How to run, how to track scents, everything had been forgotten." Eliza said, turning to face Zed.
"Wow." Zed said.
"Watch out!" Bonzo yelled. A football came in Zed and Eliza's direction. It hit the device Eliza was working on, making it move. There was a flash and something was shot at Addison. Addison gasped and fell. Zed's eyes widened.
"ADDISON!" Zed yelled. He ran over to the fence. He knelt down and looked at her. Bree gasped.
"What's wrong with her?!" Zed asked. Bree looked at her.
"Addison! Wake up!" Bree said. Addison breathed heavily, sitting up slowly. She calmed down quickly, then looked around at everyone.
"Do you remember me Addison?" Eliza asked, running over to the fence. Addison looked at Eliza.
"You're Eliza." Addison said. Zed sighed in relief.
"But who's that?" Addison asked. Zed saw her pointing at him.
"What do you mean? It's me Zed. Remember?" Zed asked sadly. Addison thought for a second.
"WAIT! You're the football guy!" Addison said. Zed looked at his feet.
"Zed-"
"I'm gonna go inside. See you at school Addison." Zed said. Tears filled his eyes. After all they've been through, Addison doesn't remember any of it. Zed walked into his house, running up the stairs to his room, slamming the door closed. He sat on his bed. He sniffled as a few tears fell.
