The cabin in the woods

Rolling over for the 10th time, I sit up knowing that sleeping wasn't going to work. Embedding my brain to think, I reviewed Kian's beloved hidden places.

The cabin in the woods, saltwater swimming lake, and the kissing rock. If you're wondering about the kissing rock... it's just a place where guys take girls for their first kiss and no, I didn't kiss Kian there for the first time. Anyways, those three places were his top list favorites.

I got up from bed, walking down to my closet. I changed briskly into comfortable floral printed pants, a black draped shirt, and pink patent leather shoes.

It was 8:30 pm on a Friday night, meaning teenagers are just starting their rages and parties. On my way out the door I grabbed my black diamond purse and car keys. The sun was long gone by now leaving nothing but the moon light shining down.

While walking over to my ford dodge, I saw a light green piece of paper clipped under my wiper blade. I suddenly stopped, looking around to see if there were any witnesses around. I continued walking to my car and grabbed the note, unfolding it.

"Stop looking, you'll get hurt" I read out loud. Once I read it I got in my car as fast as I could, feeling my heart beat increasing. Telling myself to calm down, I turned the car to drive and started making my way down to the cabin in the woods.

...

Bringing the car to a stop, I looked around. Nothing out of normal I saw. I got out of the car making my way into the woods. Twelve steps straight, four steps to my left, and then twenty more steps straight to walk directly into the cabin, I remembered.

Once I saw the familiar small wood house, I hurried through the rocks and branches under my feet. Once I reached the brown front door, I stretched up looking for the hidden key.

I unlocked the door and welcomed myself inside, turning the lights on. The lights flashed a couple of times until they were brought to their normal color. I closed the door behind me and walked in to the living room.

Everything was just as we left it the last time we were here, I could see. I walked around the cabin opening doors, checking closets, and turning lights on & off.

Sitting down on the living room couch, I remember coming here with Kian alone. Having movie nights and talking about our future, but nothing about leaving town or even the state. We were the only two people that knew about this lost cabin. Kian brought me here for our one year anniversary and as he said, "You know you're really especial to me, once I bring you here. You're the one and only person I've ever brought here."

"You shouldn't be here" said a male's voice startling me.

Standing up I asked, "Who's there?"

"I'm giving you one last chance to get out."

"No! Who the hell are you to tell me else?"

"He's dead, don't you understand?"

"Who is?" I asked.

"Wow Kian did like the dumb ones, Don't say I didn't warn you sweetheart."

The lights flicked once again but this time they went off completely. I couldn't see shit and I was here, alone in a cabin miles away from town with a guy who's voice I didn't recognize.

"I said, get out!" said the male's voice once again but this time it was much closer. I felt cold hands on my shoulders that pushed me down to the floor hard, and that's when I realized that I was in some deep trouble.

I heard footsteps running away and that's when the lights came back on. I looked around but I already knew that I was the only person left in this creepy now cold cabin.

...

Waking up with a headache and bruises on your back is not the best feeling at all. Last night was very painful for me, after the cabin incident I came straight back home for bed. The only memory that comes back is of that guy pushing me down.

Who the hell was that! It wasn't Kian for sure, so who was it? I thought I was the only one who knew about it. I shook my head demanding myself to stop bringing back those terrible memories. I grabbed my IPhone which the time marked was 7:30 am. "Great" I muttered.

RING! RING!

I answered, "Hello."

"Hey, is this Hazel Black?" said a familiar voice."

"Yes why?"

"This is detective Reilly, I need you to come down to my office for a couple o-" I hanged up. I already knew what it was for, "A couple of questions" I said in a 5 years old voice.

I got up from bed, not bothering to change. I was still dressed with last night clothe which were perfect for now. I grabbed my car keys, purse, and locked the door behind me.

I stopped for a mid-second before I started sprinting down to my car. There was another note on the wiper, but this one was navy blue.

I read out loud, "I warned you to stay away. Now say one word about me and I'll make you pay."
