CHAPTER ONE
"Thanks for picking me up!" Samantha beams at me as she jumps into the passenger seat of my truck. "No problem" I smile at her. She reaches over and fixes my jet black hair. "What was wrong with it?" I question looking at her with a puppy dog look. "Too much gel." She answered simply. I roll my eyes at her and she gives me a laugh. "Your eyes are bluer today!" She
tells me. "You tell me that every day" I remind her "but thanks!" I start the engine pull away from her house. "I wouldn't say it if it wasn't true!" She says as she turns on my radio and putting her feet on my dash.
Me and samantha have been best friends since we were kids. People says it's impossible to have a best friend of the opposite gender without Falling for each other but look at us. Sixteen years later and she still pushes me down the stairs.
We pull up to the school and Samantha jumps out of the truck grabbing her bag and waiting for me. I slowly get out of my truck grabbing my backpack and locking the doors behind me. "Thanks for the ride Jojo!" Samantha thanks me while pulling me in for a hug. "I'll meet you here after school!" She tells me. I don't answer her because she's already ran ahead to meet up with her other friends. That's the difference between her and I. She so bubbly and poplar and well liked, while I'm the complete opposite. I'm shy, bullied and hated. Why? I've asked the same question my whole life. I walk in the front doors of the school and hold my breath.
As soon as you get into this school and you're at the social ranking I'm at you better hope to God you keep your head down hood up and know exactly where you're going. They will find you and they will mock you. I make it too my locker safely and put in my combination. I open up my locker and just throw my books in. I feel a tap on my shoulder and i know exactly who it is. I turn around and see Byron. Byron is the quarterback on the school football team and just so happens to be Samantha's boyfriend. "I saw you looking at my girl this morning." He sneers looking down at me. I'm pretty tall. I'm like 5"12 but Byron is 6"3 so you can imagine how this feels. "I drive her to school Byron. Plus she's my best friend. It's normal too look at people." I tell him. "What you dont have any other friends you Weakling?" He chuckles and looks at his posse Behind him that Broke into laughter. He turned his attention back to me. "I'm her boyfriend I should be driving her to school." He gave me no room to move or walk an right at this moment my anxiety is running marathons. He backs off and turn his back to me. he doesn't move but just continues talking to his friends about how much of a dumbass I am. As much as Im scared of Byron he's a stupid oaf and he boils my blood. "Some of us know how to exactly drive. And don't piss on police cars." I say coldly. I regret what I said as soon as I said it because when he turned around he did not, look happy. "What the hell did you just say?"
