My eyes flutter open and take a minute to adjust to the bright light I'm staring up at. I turn unto my side and see samantha blindly staring at the floor, completely zoned out, gnawing on what's left of her nails. I look around see I'm in the nurses office. Samantha snaps out of her daze and quickly stands up crossing the room over to me. "Hey..." Her soft smile is sympathetic. I look at her and sit up wincing at the shot of pain that went through my head. "Damn it..." I mutter holding my head. Samantha takes my side and lowers me back down the bed and called the nurse. The nurse came in wearing a wide smile. She's definitely hot. "How are you feeling?" She asked cheerily. "In pain." I state coldly. "Alright. Well, I'll fix you up and then you should head home to rest." The nurse says turning her back to me. I nod begin to sit up slowly. Samantha grabs her bag and drapes it over her shoulder and comes over to help me up. I wrap my arm around her to stable myself and she helps hold me up. We walk through the halls and people stare at me Amd I hang my head. Just for once I'd like not to be the target. "I'm so sorry..." She whispers to me as we cross the parking lot. I look around taking in the fresh air and playing with the keys in my hand. "You know what... Don't worry about Sam. It wasn't your fault. I'll be alright..." I tell her as we reach my car. "I'll drive you home okay? And I'll stay with you for the day so you're not lonely." She tells me with a smile. "You don't have to do that I tell her. "I know, I want to!" She smiles widely walking me over the the passenger side and helping me in. Once I'm in I buckle up and she hops in the drivers side and starts the engine. "Ready?" She ask looking at me wide eyes. I nod and we pull out of the parking lot. We don't talk because in all honesty, there's nothing to be said. I look out the window and just think of what happened. I guess Samantha noticed me cause she looks over at me and squeezes my shoulder. "Hey... He's an asshole. You're a better man then he will ever be!" She says trying to cheer me up. "Yeah I don't know about that but thanks Sam." I say. "You are." She says not taking her eyes off the road. Instead of answering I continue looking out the window. We pull into my drive way and I fumble in my bag for my house keys. Samantha is already out of the car and coming over to my side. She helps me out And we walk up the steps. I hand her the keys and she unlocks the door causing viper to bark. We walk in and I drop my bag and limp over to the couch and lay down draping my arm over my eyes. Sam closes the door and walls over to me and sits down beside me. I move over and lay on my side and she lays down infront of me and I let my one arm wrap around her. I duck my head down and press it Agaisnt the back of her head. I feel her grab my arm and push my grey sweater up to my elbow. She runs her cold fingers over the scars and sighs silently. I know she's worried about me. "Fresh... Or healing?" She mutters to me.. I look up and she turns over to face me still holding my wrist lightly. "Sam..." I start. "Fresh... Or healing." She states again. "Last night..." I say a tear rolling Down my cheek. Sam wraps her arms around me and lays her head Agaisnt my chest sobbing quietly. I know she hates it when I do cut but I can't help it... It's like a relief... I know she doesn't understand, I know she fears for me. I hate doing this to her. She's my bestfriend but shes like my little sister. We don't say anything and eventually her tears fade to snoring and she lays limply beside me sleeping. I close my eyes and rest my head on hers. I'm tired of it all. Is it even worth it anymore? I ask myself...
