So here's another unedited chapter. Not big on editing. Anyway I have no idea how real missing person reports go, I'm sure I'm way off. But we can pretend right? Once again super short chapter. Personally I like lots of short chapters over few long chapters. Just a preference though.

"I don't understand how she could just disappear." Valerie whispered to Logan in a shaky voice. Logan pulled her closer into a side hug.
"It's all going to be all right, the police are doing everything they can..."
"Which isn't much." Valerie said in despair.
The two sat, huddling in the police station. Miria's parents and been taken to a back room for questioning. After a while a tall man holding a clip board approached the two.
"Valerie West and Logan Danes correct?" Valerie nodded, "I am gonna have to ask you two to follow me."
"We already finished our witness statements though." Valerie carefully said.
"I know this is for something different."
The two followed the man down a hallway to a back room, Logan still had his arm draped over Valerie. The room they were lead to looked like an office. It was slightly messy and behind the desk sat a man in a suit. He had grey hair and a small amount of facial hair. The man stood up and shook hands with the two.
"Detective Myers, and you must be Logan and Valerie, please have a seat," He said gesturing to the two seats in front of his desk. The two slowly sat down.
"Now I understand you two were close to Valerie."
"Yes." Logan confirmed.
"And you were both around her that night?"
"I talked to her once or twice but I didn't see her a whole lot." Then Logan nudged Valerie.
"Oh um yeah I went to dinner with her and talked to her a bit when we first got to the dance."
"I see," detective Myers nodded, but before he could continue Logan interrupted him.
"All this is already on the witness statements, I don't see how this is important," he said slightly irritated, "I mean give us a break, we have had an emotional day."
"I understand but some new evidence has been brought to our attention." Valerie and Logan perked up, the worst case scenarios passing through their minds. What did they find? Blood? Her body?
Detective Myers opened up one of his drawers and pulled out a big plastic bag. Valerie instantly recognized its contents.
Miria's shoes.
"We found these along Tampa road, a road that we have been told she took often to get to and from school. Her mother told us she was pretty sure these belonged to Miria, but we need a confirmation."
"Those are hers." Valerie said in a faint whisper.
"Are you positive?"
"Yes, I bought them for her as a birthday present."
