Chapter 10 Redhead

Nate drove us the whole way to the beach house, I thought for a minute there, somewhere along the road he would shut his eyes and make us go in the wrong direction or worse, towards a cliff and crash and die, I hate to go down that road again, especially when Matty's by my side, no, the very thought still scares me to hell, but the coffee did the trick to him though, I drank mine when I woke up somewhere around 3 am and watched Nate steer and Matty sleep on my lap.

I even asked Nate if he wanted to rest for a bit since we were still a few hours away from the beach house when I asked him, and now it's like 8 in the morning and everyone was groaning as they get up from their sleeping positions except for Matty who was still sleeping soundly from all the groaning.

I positioned my hands around Matty to carry him bridal style.

"You spoil him too much you know?" Jess said. I do, but I like doing things like that to him.

"I know, but I do it because I want to" I said a matter of factly. I saw Matty smiled a little, guess he was awake now.

With that, the two girls went out of the van and stretched, I took Matty to the beach house and the three followed. He looked lifeless telling me he was asleep, he's really selling this 'I'm asleep so don't bother me' thing.

"uhhm, can someone get the keys in my left pocket?" I said turning around to face them. Nate raised his hands.

"Not it" "Not it" Nate and El said almost at the same time.

Jess groaned. "Come on Jess, it's not like my pocket is going to bite you" I said to her and winked making her roll her eyes at me before reaching into my pocket and getting the keys to the beach house.

She put the key in and we all went in each of us going into random rooms upstairs, it has like 6 rooms upstairs and two downstairs, a jacuzzi, a kitchen, living room, dining area and bathrooms.

I went in the last room upstairs which had the great view of the beach from the balcony. I opened the door and laid Matty down the bed to rest some more, I closed the door and went to the van to get the other stuff.

Nate helped me got the bags and paper bags that the two girls brought, they're full of chips and other stuff, we were like stocked for the weekend with chips and sodas. I chuckled.

"Why did the two pack so many chips?" I asked Nate as we placed them in the cabinets at the kitchen.

"Don't know man but I'm getting lays" He said opening one big plastic of lays, we both ate the lays as we finished packing the other stuff.

I saw Jess watching tv at the living room, El was in the bathroom upstairs and I put my bag and Matty's in our room.

"Anyone already craving to go to the beach?" I asked going downstairs, Jess looked up and smiled.

"Sure J, lemme go get changed, I'll come with, it's been a long time" She said as she turned off the TV and went upstairs to her room.

"How bout you man?" I asked Nate who was sitting at the dining table.

"Nah, tonight maybe, I'm gonna go to bed now" He said shoving one last handful of lays into his mouth, and leaving the bag there at the table and went upstairs as well.

"Okay, sleep tight man!"

"Yeah, wake me up if you need me" He yelled.

I sat down the dining table to eat the leftover lays until a pair of light hands covered my eyes. "Hey, bunny why're you up early?" I said knowing it was Matty and shoving in a handful of chips.

"Well I wasn't expecting that" Said the girly voice and then giggled. I know that giggle from anywhere. I took off the hands away from my eyes and turned behind me.
