Part 5: A New beginning

Scarlett wore a pair of leather pants and a short feathery skirt over her thigh high boots and a tight fitting vest top. Her crimson hair loose around her shoulders reaching down to her hips. She was nervous on the drive over on her motorcycle about that night. She never thought that her a crimson haired beauty with a firey tempered brother would fall in love with a doctor, and not just any but the one she worked with.

Climbing off the motorcycle, she slowly made her way towards the front door, taking a deep breath before her hand came up to knock upon the door. It was moments later that when the door opened revealed the raven haired doctor himself. A young girl with the same raven colored hair as her father came out tackling the females legs, 

"Scarlett-Chan came to visit today" Cora cheered in her child like way. Law couldn't help but to smile while he watched the two of them. His gray eyes shimmering with new found love as he watched the crimson haired woman pick up his only child, swinging her around until his ears picked up the giggles. 

Leaving the two of them to what they were doing he walked back inside of his home, returning to the kitchen to finish dinner feeling his heart give the familiar flutter it had begun to do now more often than he would admit to it. 

When they sat down to eat, Scarlett was helping with Cora and it pleased him to see how well they acted together, it made it easier for what he was going to ask next. Taking several deep breaths he set down his knife and fork and grabbing his wine glass that only he and Scarlett had, he looked at them straight in the eyes before speaking.

"Scarlett, I have been meaning to speak to you and I guess now is as best of time as any. " He was growing shy which was a first for him since his previous died but smiling he turned to Cora and with a gentle request he asked the young girl to go play in the living room. When the girl finally complied with the promise of some ice cream a little later she left the two alone. 

When alone he reached over taking the red haired womans hand within his own. Her eyes sparking with a soft blush appearing on her cheeks. It caused him to blush once more himself as he pulled her closer  bringing her hand up to his face letting out a small sigh recalling the graveyard so clearly it made him shutter slightly.

"Scarlett I know this is sudden but the last few years ever since we met, I...I have slowly begun to fall in love with you. I know it is wrong to because of my former lover. But I didn't get the chance at the future with her that I had dreamed. I see how Cora loves you as if you were her own. It would bring me great joy if not only you were to become her mother but also my wife. So I will ask this and you don't have to answer yet if you don't want to...Eustass Scarlett will you do the honors of Marrying me and becoming my wife and living here." He spoke clearly, if not slightly nervous while holding the womans hand tightly within his own. feeling his own heart shake at the thought of possible rejection or happiness that she would accept.

Looking at the male, she felt her heart leap up into her throat. Scarlett never once thought that something like that would come from the doctors mouth and it made her excited beyond all measures for it. Feeling her lips quirk up into a smile she reached out with her free hand grasping the side of his face before pressing her lips firmly into his own. The kiss marked many they would share together and many that would pass the time. Pulling away after a few moments breathless with wonder and shimmering gold eyes she began to nod slow and first than faster. Speaking clearly so he could hear her words and hope they would get through to him.

"Yes...A thousand times yes" Was what she said and with that exact response he had been praying for all day the Doctor leapt up to grasp the red haired woman swinging her around before kissing her again and again. Glad that they would be starting a future together soon enough.
