"Please, he's still alive! I heard him! Please help me!" I cried to the old grave carer.
"I told you, he is dead and he will stay dead. Trying to dig him back up won't help." He said for the 3rd time.
I knew I could be insane but no matter what I was going to try, and try, and try again, no matter what.
Then I had a stroke of luck.
"Excuse me, but what is all the ruckus?" the doctor said.
The gravedigger seemed annoyed, "this dumb kid says he thinks that the boy who died a week ago is still alive."
the doctor looked skeptical, then stared straight at me. He smiled. "Well some people have been buried alive on accident and it is quite possible he is still alive." He rested his hand on my shoulder. "Let's dig up that boy now, just in case."
The gravedigger scowled, but eventually gave up, "Fine, but if that boy is still dead, you owe me later." He sighed and asked me, "Where is he?"
I pointed at the place Tord was buried and he started uprooting the dirt.
Down, up, down up, went his shovel until he hit the wood.
The doctor wiped residue off the coffin and lifted the lid.
