Aquamarine : Daughter of Fire [On Hold]

CHAPTER 5

I can feel the sunlight on my face but I am too tired to open my eyelids. I run my fingers in my red hair and try to move my body but it won't obey me. It's not moving! A cry escapes my lips and I am forced to lay back again.
I stare at my surroundings. The room is painted white and there is a sky blue wall just behind the comfortable bed I lay on. The bright sunlight enters the room through the two large windows. The blue and white curtains match the blue and white furniture of the room. The room is very different from the ones we have back home.
Wait! Did I say back home. I take a proper look around and feel the difference. I used to have an off white room with dark brown furniture. Where on Aquatatia am I? Crap! Am I even in Aquatatia? My mother was right when she said that I was careless and look, by not listening to her I end up in a completely different place. But somehow this change feels so welcoming. I don't have a bad feeling about this situation. I like the fragrance that filled the room. It smelled like a mixture of flowers like lavender and tulips or maybe freshly cut grass.
I guess I was so absorbed in my thoughts that I didn't notice someone entering the room and standing next to the bed.
"Morning princess".
I am utterly shocked by the person's presence that I try to sit upright. But end up moaning by realizing the pain in my body. The man laughs and helps me to sit up. Instead of thanking him I blurt out the words "Did you kidnapp me?"
The man who was genuinely smiling now starts to laugh hard.
"Really! I surely don't look like a kidnapper. And that's all I get for treating you well."
I can't help but smile at my stupidity.
"I am sorry I didn't mean it like that. It's just that I don't remember anything and waking up in a different place was actually kind of confusing."
OMG! I blurt out the words like I was running a marathon.
"It's okay. Well it wasn't very nice of me to come in, unannounced and scare the crap out of you."

"I wasn't scared. But where am I and who are you?"

"Well, you are in skylands and ....."
But I don't let him finish.

"Wait, what! I am in the Skylands. "
The guy scratches the back of his neck and answers me.
"Look, I am going to be like very 'up to the mark' okay." I nod my head in agreement.
"Yes we're in the Skylands and tell me exactly what happened yesterday with your mother ?"

"How do you know who I am and what happened yesterday? Are you some kind of a stalker. And can't we start with a decent introduction? "

The man looks at me with guilty eyes. His appearance is very familiar. His jet black hair are long in messy bangs. He has an athletic, strong and a chissled body with a prominent jawline and high cheekbones. His peach coloured lips complement his fair complexion. But the most breadth taking, irresistible and utterly beautiful feature is his eyes. They are blue like the sky and deep like the ocean at the same time. His long black lashes look very attractive. It's difficult to explain or describe the beauty of his eyes. The are darker at the boundaries of the iris and lighter in the middle. The only thing I can say to describe their beauty is that the person looking at them can stare at them for the whole day but still cannot measure the deepness in them, just like the ocean.

"I am sorry. Feels like I am too straight forward. My name is Eric and I am the crowned prince of Skylands. "

"What! But why do you seem so familiar?"
He does seem very familiar. His voice matches someone I think I know. But who?
"You- ah - me. No I don't remember meeting you before princess."
Princess! Ah ha I know him. I eye him suspiciously and he looks down while scratching the back of his neck.

"Aren't you the guy who told me about my father? Oh yes you are. Who do you think you are fooling?" I pout my lips depicting my anger. He laughs nervously and makes himself comfortable by sitting beside me.

"You don't have be annoyed like that because I will explain myself later but please do tell me what happened yesterday. "

"I remember confronting my mom and getting very angry. And -- and.......

"And what?"

"My eyes turned red and my body started radiating heat. It was very painful but then the only thing I remember is that I transformed into something big. After that everything that happened was a blur. I don't even remember what I said to my mother."
Prince Eric listens with interest and nods his head after I finish.

"It all makes sense to me now. Get ready there will be someone visiting you soon. I will send some maids to help you and there are some dresses in the cupboard. "

"But aren't going to explain yourself?"

"I will but when the right time comes."
With these words he leaves my room and once again I am on my own.
But who's visiting me? Is it my mom?
Oh I don't even want to see her.
Okay, let's hope it's not her.
