Chapter 3:In his arms, I feel safe

1 week after the last chapter....

Ashley felt so guilty. She helped to destroy countless caverns, stole hundreds of slugs, helped to risk a thousand people's lives  Some people even died. She grabbed a knife and put it at her heart, then dropped it on the floor and cried.Her favorite ghoul, a Greneater, tried to comfort her as she wept for the souls that were risked and killed.

What cause do I to feel glad,

I built my life on judgement and causing pain

I don't know those eyes I see in the bloodstained chrome.

Now everything that I've had and everything

I known have been thrown away.

With time, I've come to find that this isn't my home.

I-I-I've stoked the fire, seen more pain than you can know

The tears of the broken have washed away my soul.

Pushed by desire to change the way my stream will flow

Now I'm awoken, and I'm taking back control.

I tried my best to block out the screams, but

They're haunting me in my dreams.

Please break my shackles, I want it to stop.

Twist knocked on Ashley's door. She let him in, although she was still crying. He asked,

"You ok?" She responded,

"No. I helped to destroyed countless caverns and risked the lives of thousands of innocent people. I'm a monster." She turned away from the blonde haired boy. He hugged her. She hugged him back. She missed hugs like this. When she was upset, Eli would always comfort her. She cried at the thought of him. Twist soothed her. They became best friends in the past week(amazing, right?). She never felt like the same person ever since she worked for Blakk. But right here, right now, she felt safe in Twist's arms, like he was her father. They let go. Twist asked,

"You feel better?" Ashley replied,

"A lot. Thx. I just feel so guilty about what I did this past week."

"You'll get used to it. I made an attempt to commit suiside the first week I was here." We laughed at that one. We chatted in Ashley's room until Twist was called downstairs. He said bye to Ashley and went downstairs.

I man these wretched machines

Day in, day out, the grinding wears on my brain.

Underminding my sanity, making me question my reality.

But life is not as it seems

Should I take a chance of freedom and throw it all down the drain?

I've been imprisoned, please burn my

transgressions away.

I-I-I've stoked the fire, seen more pain than you can know.

Eli was imprisoned in Blakk's citadel.

"Blakk! What do you want from me?!"The young Shane shouted. Blakk responded,

"Revenge."He aimed a Goon Doc at Eli. He tried to run away, but the guards held him. He tried to struggle away from their hold, but they were far too strong. Blakk aimed the Goon Doc at him and said,

"Goodbye!"He pulled the trigger. Suddenly, the Goon Doc stopped in mid air, changed back to protoform and was thrown against the wall. Twist, Blakk and Eli were shocked.

"WHAT?!" Blakk shouted with rage. Ashley was at the door.

"Ashley!" Eli shouted with relief and happiness.

"Ash, what the hell?!" Twist asked. She asked Blakk,

"If Eli is dead, do you know it'll affect me too?" Twist asked,

"Why will it affect you anyway?"She responded,

"Everyone in the Shane Gang is special to me, especially Eli. If he's dead, I'll be a few months later. And I would just become weaker until I die. In fact, I only joined you because I wanted you to spare their lives." She took down the guards and gave Eli his blaster. They fended off Blakk together. Blakk was in a cell in no time. Eli was about to shoot Twist with Bludgeon when Ashley blocked him, saying,

"Eli! No! Please. Don't." He lowered his blaster and asked,

"Why not?" Twist was about to shoot Eli when Ashley glared at him, which made him lower his blaster. She replied Eli,

"He's been like a brother to me ever since I worked for Dr Blakk. If it wasn't for him, I would've committed suiside out of guilt." Twist was surprised. Eli was shocked.  They made peace between themselves and got out of Blakk's citadel. They got on our mecha beasts and rode away.

I'm sick of hurting, sick of thinking it's all I do.

I break those around me, those spared are very few.

But the bright sun is burning, and my sky shines ever blue.

Friendships surrond me, I'm becoming a part of you.

While they rode to the Shane hideout, they crossed a river. Ashley was unlucky enough to fall in it.

"Ashley!" Twist and Eli shouted together. Ashley shouted,

"Guys! Help me!"
