I descended into the dark, and a bit frightened, but to top it off, happy and joyful for the resources ahead. I chomped onto the last piece of the stale bread, crumbs falling onto my cotton dress. I rushed across the dusty cave, scattered with iron and coal. But I started to notice loads of coal, it wasn't strange, but the myth crossed my mind... him. I shook it away, soon trying to fill my mind with thoughts like
"Coal is common in places like these..." and "Ghosts aren't even real..." and the thought vanished from my mind, for a moment. Because I caught a glimpse of something, hidden behind cobwebs and trickling water... the blue. "It couldn't be." I mumbled to myself, my concerned frown turned into an excited grin. I took out the homemade iron pickaxe, created for the day I would find it.
Diamond. I didn't seem to notice that there was a two by two hole in the wall,, but I'm sure even if I did, it wouldn't stop me, and nothing would. I dug my pickaxe under the gem, and popped it out, just like you would a jar of marmalade. The ore dissolved into the air, leaving a hole... it didn't seem like much, but I didn't seem to collect the jewel. I was a bit confused, and mined the other one, just wanting at least one. The ore disappeared, it never appeared in my bag. I looked a bit frustrated. Then my eyes averted to another being... tall... pale... cold... And frightening all together.
My mind was blank... I stood there, and I didn't know what to think. Should I run, attack... ask him for mercy, or all but stay still in hopes he will leave me alone... I closed my eyes and tightened them... was I hallucinating... But I opened them again, and looked at his face, mouth opened in awe. I eyed the sword in his palms that could quite possibly be the end of me. I dropped my inventory... Before backing away, and rushing off, tripping over my own feet. I was so worried that I would never see the sun again. Tears began to trickle down my face, but I never stopped. Three miles later, my feet ached, blistered and sore when I arrived at my house. Was he gone? Or was he right behind me... I wasn't going to turn around to find out. I opened the door, which released a horrible creak. It frightened me, For I was just too shaken up. But I was happy to be home, where is was relaxing. A relief.
I realized it was already night, the zombies and skeletons spawning like wild fire. I collapsed onto the worn out mattress, and draped the blankets over my head. My eyelids began to grow heavy with time, and they eventually closed, my dreams were vivid, frightening. These weren't dreams, they were nightmares! I jumped out of my bed, stopping myself from releasing a terrified scream. I thought to myself "It was only a dream... Don't worry." the ghost... it was only in my nightmare. Or so I thought. I crept out of my bed, and slugged down the stairs, expecting to go and bathe in the hot spring, imagining the lily pads floating adrift in a pattern of swirls from the rushing waterfall. I grabbed my towel and mushroom soap. I flung open the creaky door and glanced out at the steamy waterfall. My dreary frown turned into an expecting smile. I began to skip, excited. I flopped off my iron shoe, that didn't seem to fall off while I slept. I removed the cotton, and slowly slumped into the gentle warming water.
My face dripping with warm sweat and water, I stepped out of the relaxing pool, and wrapped the towel around me. I casually walked onto the gravel trail leading to my miniature shack of a house. I smelled something smoggy, thinking I might have just left my furnace on overnight. "The charcoal was probably just burning..." I thought... But was horrified when I opened the door. A fire was set ablaze in my property. I quickly with no time to waste, yanked my iron ingots out of the chest. I dressed myself swiftly and crafted a bucket. I paced outside and sprinted to the hot spring the minute it was spotted. I filled the bucket with water and dumped it on the fire, droplets flying in every direction. The embers on my crisping wood finished floor were the only thing that was left behind from the fire. I looked at my furnace, there wasn't even a speck of charcoal or coal used as fuel, there was only one thing...or someone that could have done this. Him. I only stared in shock thinking that the encounter had made a permanent impact on my life that could mean...death. He was obviously trying to be rid of me, so that only left one option...run. Then I realized the flaw of my plan...my inventory was left behind in the cave and the only way to build my house somewhere far away from this place...was to fetch the contents from the bag. I shuddered in fear, for I didn't want to go back to the dreaded area. I hesitantly vanished into the moonlight.
