Today was the day. Dustin Jayce Dickens, you can do this.

I see her, Rebecca. Oh she's so beautiful. Her brown hair, her square toe boots, her tan, her Texan drawl, the way her jeans fit her just right.

She looks like the perfect person to go muddin with on a Friday night before a bonfire. Here we go. I'm gonna ask her.

I take a deep breath in. I walk up to her and my boots clack on the floor and she turns to me, her friends don't pay much attention to me until,

"Hey Dustin!"

She smiles. Oh dang. She's hot.

"Hey Becca. Umm... can I ask you something?"

She turns to her friends.

"Um. Sure."

"Would you like to come over for a drive and a bonfire?"

Rebecca smiles, turns to her friends for a second and turns back.

"What will we be driving in?"

My heart starts pounding.

"If you say yes, we are going to be driving in my truck to my house and then we are going to pull out my fourwheelers and we are gonna go muddin."

Her beautiful green eyes light up. She smiles. I think it's a yes.

"Hm... Yes, I'll go with you." She giggles.

My heart jumps. Did she just say yes?

"Oh. Wait Really? With me?"

She rolls her eyes.

"No I was talking to that post." She said sarcastically.

"Oh. Heh. Right." I rub my neck. "So uhh.. You wanna go now?"

Becca smiles and grabs my hand, "Race you to the truck!" She giggles and runs out the door, boots clacking, sounding like a herd of elephants.

I smile and chase her. "I have the keys. You can't get in."

She stops and her boots skid to a halt, "Hurry, or we'll run out of time to go mudding before the bonfire!"

I smile and chase after her, grabbing her by the waist, she squealed in surprise as I unlock the truck.

She reaches for the radio, "Can I?"

"Sure."

She turns on the radio to the good station and we drive, singing as we drive to my house.

We get to my house and before I put it in park and turn off the truck, she's out and running towards the fourwheelers.

I get out and walk after her. "You really wanna go muddin, huh?"

She smiles, "Nah, I just wanted to hang with you. I've liked you for forever but I just never got the guts to talk to you."

My stomach fills with butterflies. I rub my neck.

"Really?"

"Yeah."

I gently grab her by the waist, pull her in close and look in her beautiful, green eyes for a long while until she says,

"Are you gonna kiss me or not?"

I smile, grab her face with my hand and kiss her. Dang. I've always wanted to do that. All my senses were going crazy. I pull away and ask,

"You still down to go muddin'?"

She smiles.

"With you? Hell yeah!"
