Yoo,
So i know i haven't been consistent,
But i'll try my best.
Too grateful to the 2 people that still bother to read this.
You've motivated me;
Now i shall write as if i have thousands of readers on the line.
Thank you for your patience.~~~
HER PERSPECTIVE
The phone is ringing constantly.
"I swear down.."
I say, gritting my teeth as i let it continue to ring for the past 5 minutes. It's 3am.
I groan heavily,
Before regretfully picking up the phone. But as i tapped "ACCEPT" without paying attention to the caller ID,
This nauseous feeling had taken over..I put the phone against my ear,
Expecting my mother or abuela's voice.
Gulping, i initiated the conversation in silence.
Never would i have anticipated who would've been on the other line. Not mother,
Nor sweet abuela."Finally! Dia? Hello? Anyone there? Hello? What the he-"
I somehow managed to end the call, despite my trembling fingers and dropping the phone.
No way
Would i
Have ever
Anticipated
Her.I don't know what came over me at that moment,
But all i remember was me
Picking up the phone again,
And re-dialling.
Just so i could hear that precious voice once again. The phone rings, but is quickly answered.
"Hey Elle,
Sorry i dropped, i couldn't hear so I thought it would be best to re-dial.
Anyways, what's up?"She came up as an unsaved contact.
"Yoo, yeahh, no worries.
I just, um, wanted to invite you to this event.. uhh, a weddi- i mean- my wedding ahaa.."Just like how i dropped the call,
My heart was about to do the same."W-wh.. CONGRATULA-"
"Eww nah just kidding, bro. Basically there's this lil' reunion thing going on at Fairfield's Park.
You up for it?"I widened my eyes.
Fairfield Park was my childhood.
There was always something beautiful about that place.
The restaurants, barbecue spots, sport facilities, playgrounds, a lake, a mini-zoo, an artificial beach and even a garden maze made Fairfield Park the number one tourist spot and wedding venue!I desperately miss the summer funfairs that took place..
The smell of barbecue ..
The sight of the sun setting ..
The melodies of laughter
Coming from
My friends-"Hello? Can you hear me? Maybe your phone's bugging again.."
"What?"
Wait what's she waffling on about now?
Ohh, right.
"Would you give me some time to think about it, please?""Uh yeahh, sure whatever.
You have a few hours.
We gonna meet at, like, 3pm.
So i guess you have, like, 9 hours."I shake off my thought bubble, which was attempting the arithmetic.
Maybe she intended to give me time to get ready?"Who's 'we'?"
I genuinely didn't know who she was on about.
Our high school friends?
Our old basketball team?"Ah, you'll see."
She chuckles.
"BT-dubs, Jay will be there."
She ends the call.
I'm somehow relieved.
I thought she had amnesia or something,
Because for the first time in a long time,
She reached out to me.
I thought she had forgotten about the 'incident', since she was talking to me as if it had never even occurred.
But the smugness in her voice from the last sentence proved me wrong. It's 3am.
I have 12 hours to decide.
