I turned around to find a boy that I never seen before holding my hand.i made a strange weird look and eyed our hands to his face. He lend closer and whispered. " it's ok, act cool. Those girls". He turned around and smiled a group of girls and continued, "said you don't have any friends". I wanted to prove him wrong but they were right.i don't and it's embarrassing that he things to not true. " don't worry I'll be your friend".
I didn't know what to say, I have never seen him in my life and yet again if feels like he's my lost long friend. He gave a me a small squeeze and started walking. I followed him, I don't know what he's doing. I here smirks and whispers, my mind was racing and didn't know rather to let go and leave or to follow him. I have no idea how long but we've stopped.
" it's okay, give it a minute". He said
"What?". What is he. It was then I realized his face. He was tan, lend boy about my age maybe a little older. He had black curly hair that was sticking out his cap. Big green eyes and small nose and finished it off with full lips. He was wearing a red tank top and a leather jacket. Some dark pants and brown boots. He smirked when he saw me checking him out. " who are you" I finally spit out. Not that he was good looking , I mean he was but its weird boys like him won't even look at me.
" um... I'm Alex. Alex Ortiz. And I believe you are....?". He was pretty good I knew his kind.
I folded my hand and Leaned against the wall. " what do you want, no I won't do your homework. If you have a project, no I won't do it, last time I did, I got in trouble so anything else is basically ...... a no."
He started laughing but kindly tried to hold it in as much as possible. " I already told you what I want. I want to be your friend." He placed his hands inside his pockets and looked down, kinda embarrassed and started rocking back and forth. " I'm kinda.... new. You seem like a really good person, and I like that about you, Maya ." He eyed me carefully until I realized something. How did he know name.
" how did you know my name? I never told you." He had a blank face on. I couldn't tell if he was startled or Amazed on how I caught it fast.
" yea, you did. You just did, like right now.did you forget already". I never did. " anyways, you have lunch now right, well then let's go together, friend" . He emphasized the word friend and started walking. I rolled my eyes and made an ugly face. Sadly he turned around to see that. He chuckled and tilted his head to make a direction.
I followed again. I was getting really angry at this follow the leader thing, but continued anyways. I wonder if knows my condition, that I'll probably forget him tomorrow.i mean that's what he meant by did you forget already. Does he know or was he just saying that.
We reached the lunch room and found a table in the back. He brought a salad and some bread, while I took a slice of pizza. We ate quietly for a while, until he broke the silence. " do you always eat by yourself". This guy is pretty nosey and didn't mind his business much.
" how come you started school now? Where were you in the beginning of the school year? It's almost March." There I could be nosy too. He moved a little like he was irritated by my questions. But I didn't care much.
" I got kicked out of my old school, didn't get along" . He didn't meet my eyes which I knew he was lying. " I went to school, upstate, they aren't the nicest people there. My dad had an affair with the principle, but broke it off after I confronted him. She got mad and started to make ....problems with us, so yea."
He was confusing, if we were going to be friends, it'll take a long time for me know when he's lying or telling the truth. " okay, um.... I'm sorry to hear that. Affairs could suck between important people in your life." I was horrible at this, I don't know what to say to things like this.
" what's do you know about situations like this". he blinked but interest in his eye.
" What you mean". I tried to make it look like I didn't know but obviously I'm terrible.
" You said that affairs could suck between important people, do you mean like it happened to you, I mean if you don't want to tell me is fine." He eyed me, he had the pleasure of finding out which scared me.
I shook my head, what is it with this guy. " no, I just know a few people who went through that". He was looking again. He's curious, and I know it.he wasn't to stop asking questions. "So where are you from, like what's your nationality". I changed the subject really quickly.
" if I tell you you won't be sitting with me right now". He said it so serious that it scared me.
