I slept that night floating in the air. I had many strange dreams coming and going. I was restless when I woke up and felt sore and in pain at every joint in my body. I sat up for in my bed rubbing my neck, when I realized Alex wasn't sleeping in his bed. His sheets were nicely done and folded. I looked around and got up to to get dressed when I finished, the door opened. I turned around to see Alex, standing there. He leaned to the wall and started checking me out. I lowered my head and placed my hair in a high ponytail.
He smiled "morning sunshine, didn't sleep well last night?"
I turned my face to look at him. I gave me a puzzled look, how did he know.
" you kept talking in your sleep, had me worried about you there".
I was stumped, tongue tide, what did I say. I thought I stopped doing that a long time ago. " what did I say". I was afraid of what he was going to say.
He walked toward me and picked up his bag from behind me, he looked at me and said, " You were saying something about escaping, and they won't get you. You started crying and getting really hot, I thought to call the nurse until you started saying I'm fine I got away, they won't find me here". I was shocked. I need him out he can't stay here. He needs to leave. NOW.
" why didn't you wake me, you shouldn't hear things like this. They don't mean anything". I was trying really hard to not get angry and say things I'll regret.
" it's okay, I'm not going to tell anyone, it's not like I knew what it is. And beside you don't wake people from dreams like these." He took a deep breath and sigh.
" what did you mean by not waking people up from dreams like these?" I was really weak and tired that I couldn't help but to ignore the fact he didn't answer my question and left the room. I pick up my bag and gave myself one last look in the mirror and got ready for Science. I arrived at class and sat down at the back. The kids were being an āss and playing around, throwing paper ball and shouting. The door opened and everyone sat down. The teacher came in and looked up to find a confused faces on everyone's face. I looked toward to the door and saw this weird tall man dressed in a black suit. He stood there looking at everyone's face and walked over the desk and placed his bag down. He took out some papers and started shuffling.
" I'm taking attendance, say here when you're name is called." He was was very scratchy and made me wanting to clear my throat for him. He started called people's names until he said. " Ms. Martinez." I looked at him and and raised me hand
" here". I said softly.
He nodded and said under his breath loud for everyone to here. " yes, sadly I do believe you are here". I raised my eyebrows and made and ugly face at him. Everyone turned around and started pointing and laughing.
This isn't good, I don't think we are gonna get along.
He placed the paper down and sat down. He clear his throat and started again.
" okay class, my name is mr. brooks and I'm going to be your new science teacher. As for Mr.chalk, would sadly not be joining us anymore for he has moved schools. It will take me a while to know your names but don't worry by next week, you will known." Nice speech. Ugh I liked mr. chalk, he was really nice.
He stared moving around the class to check it out. He turned around and smiled. Ew never want to see that again, his teeth did not match his pale skin, he had really big yellow teeth that had a huge gab between his two front teeth.
" I have an amazing idea, shall we get to know each other better?. Yes I believe that's a great idea. I want everyone to stand up and say the following: your full name, your age, your birth date and where your from". He looked at me and gave me a smirk. " Ms. Martinez, thank you for volunteering to go first. You may Begin when your ready."
I looked at him and tried not to show my anger. I didn't volunteer and he's picking on me from the first day. I looked at Alex, and he gave me a worried face and smiled. I rolled my eyes.
" um, I didn't volunteer".
He blinked and then shook his head. " I want to go first though".
I took a deep breath and begin.... " I....."
" Stop! I want you to stand up while presenting."
I cleared my throat and got up. " my...."
" Sorry, I want you to come in front and present in front of everyone".
I formed my hands onto fits and walked to the front. I walked past him and gave me a half mink and half smirk.
