*Jimmys P.O.V.*

Deep breaths.

In.

Out.

Ok.

Yep. That was real. She sat on my lap. I made her sit back down. That happened.

Holy shit she has a nice butt.

I know it's cheesy, but I meant it when I said I loved her. It's your basic, met in elementary school (5th grade), pulled her hair and stole her crayons, picked on her in middle school, then fell in love in high school kinda story. Whether she feels the same or not, I guess we'll find out.

And this is it. With my guys helping me, this will be the summer she falls for me too. Especially since her parents just left and won't be back until August.

I went to The Guitar Center earlier knowing she got the job there (because I talked her up to the manager, you're welcome Lil ;) ) in desperate need to see her face. It's like a disease I swear. I can't get enough of her. And this cocky fascade is getting so hard to keep up. It's all just ughhfhng.

Leaving her always kills me. I mean I'm sure she'll be calling in 20 mins or so to vent about whatever stress that's on her shoulders but that's another 20 minutes before I hear that beautiful voice again. I should've kissed her again.

Wait.

No.

Not yet.

The walk home took longer than usual due to my endless thoughts about Lillie, this summer, and the dreaded apartment/dorm hunting that will take place sometime next week.

Little barks ring through my house as I open the door. "Hi babyboy! How is the puppy?" I coo to my pit bull, Spro. I grab a bowl of cereal and plop down on the couch, logging into my Netflix.

Not even 10 minutes into Rick and Morty, my phone rings.

"Hi Lilliebean."

Her anxious voice was rambling on the other line.

"You said to call if I need you and I'm in a bit of a situation. Now I don't want you to freak out, but I need your help."

My heart starts racing at the sound of that.

"What is it? Are you okay? Are you hurt? Do I need to come get you?"

"I'm not hurt. I just..." she trails off.

"You just what?!" I'm basically having a heart attack now.

"...I'm really craving cookies and creme."

I hear a giggle on her end and hang up. All that for some damn ice cream.

Smh.

~

When I got to Lillies a half hour later, having to pick up the ice cream of course, she was sitting in her disaster of a room whining abour a pair of fluffy socks she couldn't find. I pulled out the bag and she ran into my arms. In a sing-song voice, she says, "You are the bestest omg I love you thank you!" So now we are sitting at the bar in her kitchen as she happily munches on her ice cream.

"I don't understand why you didnt just text me and ask for it. Like why you gotta be so dramatic?"

Lillie puts her spoon back in the tub for another scoop. "I didn't think you would actually get me some so I had to." She smiles at me and I stick my tongue out.

"Yeah you're probably right," I tease, thinking, I would do anything for you what are you talking about??

We spend the next hour and a half together eating ice cream and talking about where we're going to move for college and what it's gonna be like to start our lives. (Me hopelessly dreaming about sharing an apartment with her and trying to hide it)

"I don't know," she says, "I like it here but I have no idea what I want to do with my future."

She looks down and plays with the end of her spoon, not making eye contact and chewing on her lip.

"How can you not know? We've only been talking about it since sophomore year."

I mean, kind of anyways. It was more like I asked about her future and she avoided the question all together.

"Yeah well things change."

Then everything got awkward. She stopped eating and I couldn't find words and she wasn't looking at me and this has never happened before so I had no idea what to do.

I stood up slowly, taking the tub of ice cream and putting it in her freezer, tossing the spoon into the sink on my way back to her. She didn't notice me, obviously transfixed on something in her head. So I stood for a moment not knowing what to say, then looked at the door.

"Okay I think I need to head home. It's been fun. Let me know if you ever find those socks."

She looks up, coming out of her gaze and smiles. "Sure will," she answers. We both stand up and I make my way through the kitchen and living room to the front of the house, Lillie right behind me.

"Love you."

"Love you too. Later Lilliebean." I wink and close the door behind me, wondering what the hell just happend.
