"You come back here right now young lady!"

Cristina slams the door and jumps on her bed, why is she always like this? It's like as if she was blaming her for looking, acting and loving him. She takes a pillow and holds it in front of her face so she can yell without Helen hearing her.

When a mother and her daughter have nothing in common except that they both lost someone they loved very much, it's hard for communication. Eight years ago when it happened Cristina was also in the car, Helen was at home. Her and Robert had just gotten into a fight, but it was no news. All they would do every day was fighting about the smallest problems. It all happened really fast: the car flipped over, the ambulance came, even before they got him to the hospital he'd gone into cardiac arrest and passed away. Since that day of winter 1991, Helen and Cristina's relationship had been...bad.

Pre-teen was a bad period for Cristina. Her mother had just met Saul, a rich doctor. They had to move to Beverly Hills and they got married. Helen became a very materialistic woman, after the death of Robert she became colder to her daughter because she reminded her of her ex-husband a lot. Saul and Helen tried to have other kids but it just never worked out.

When Cristina became a teenager and went to high school her relationship with her mother got even worse than it already was. Like any teen she wanted attention, she needed to be seen by her mom. She was a very smart girl who loved to read and study but she would come home late, sometimes never come home; she'd drink, smoke and party a lot, but none of it seemed to make her mother care.

What Helen wanted for her daughter was nothing like the life Cristina imagined for herself, she wanted to become a doctor, she didn't care about falling in love or having children, she wanted to help people and save families from feeling the same pain she felt and still sometimes feels after losing her father. Helen needed her to become someone great, all the dreams she'd never accomplished she forced them onto her daughter. She signed her up to go to dancing class, music class, acting class and painting.

So Cristina just wants to get out of the house, she wants to be free, she wants to study and help others and not have to worry about her mother anymore. So she looks through the window, and there are kids playing, they're here every day, and she wishes to be as free as they are when they're playing in their imaginary world.
