Lance had been rubbing circles on Keith's back while he hugged him, hoping it would help calm him down (which it did), so when Keith suddenly spoke it slightly surprised him. Lance looked down at him.

Keith's cheeks and the tip of his nose were dusted dark pink as he rubbed his eyes, mirroring a child as he looked at Lance with his voice still shaky. Lance couldn't help but bite his lip to hold back a grin at his expression.

Keith apparently noticed and frowned up at him, tilting his head slightly. "What?" He asked a mixture of frustration, confusion and slight innocence in his voice and reflected in his violet eyes. Lance blushed an unnoticeable pink as he tried desperately to hide his growing smile.

"Pft, nothing." He obviously lied, making Keith's suspicions rise higher as he looked at him, his eyes now dry and less red from crying, his sleeve however damp. They both seemingly forgot about how Lance still had his arms around Keith as they looked at each other.

"What is it?" Keith asked again, getting impatient at Lance. Lance chuckled at him. "It's nothing, Mullet." He said, going back to teasing as Keith pushed him away from him, crossing his arms in annoyance. Lance only laughed more at Keith's reaction, trying to get closer to him only to get swatted in the arm.

"Don't touch me." He pouted.

"C'mon, Mullet, I-I'm sorry!" Lance laughed, crawling over to him.

"I said don't touch me. And stop calling me Mullet goddamnit!" Keith said, Lance, laughing hysterically and flopping face-down on the bed in front of him, his eyes watering from how hard he was laughing.

"It's not even that funny what the hell is wrong with you??" Keith crossed his legs awkwardly, struggling to hide his own grin as Lance was basically dying of laughter right in front of him. He couldn't help himself as a small giggle escaped his mouth, making Lance's laughs stop abruptly as Keith slapped a hand over his mouth. The two of them stayed in terrifyingly painful silence, Lance staring at him as Keith looked away, his face slowly growing redder by the second from embarrassment. Lance didn't know what to say, internally shrieking at how Keith's giggle sounded and how outrageously bi he was.

After a few more minutes of uncomfortable stillness, Lance spoke up quietly.

"Was that you?"

Keith looked at him for a second before looking away again and rubbing his arm. He never really liked his laugh, so laughing just slightly in front of his new roommate for the rest of their school year on their first day of knowing each other made Keith worry about how Lance would view him, especially since he also basically had a mental breakdown over something as small as a loud noise from his phone. His first instinct was to deny it so that's what he did.

"No-" He said quickly, not looking Lance in the eye as the Cuban sat up in front of him on the bed, making their height difference slightly more noticeable. Lance smiled down at him as tilted his head to the side.

"Y'know, you're terrible at lying, Kogane," Lance said simply, his smile only growing as he watched Keith.

"Oh shut up, you wouldn't know half the truth about me." The raven-haired teenager scoffed.

"And neither would you about me."

They both sat there in silence, Keith sat with his legs and arms crossed on one side of the bed and Lance on the other side with his hands in his lap as he sat on his leg, his other leg resting to the left of Keith.

Lance inhaled sharply, breaking the silence and making Keith jump slightly. Keith looked up to see his expression and his eyes unnoticeably widened. Lance's face was blushed a soft shade of red, making his freckles more distinct as he awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck and looked down at the bed beside him.

Lance looked up, seeing Keith looking at him out of the corner of his eye, making him gently raise a questioning eyebrow.

"What?"

Keith blushed pink out of embarrassment and looked at the wall, not sure where else to look.

"Nothing, it's just you breathe really loudly," Keith said, feigning an irritated look as he looked back at Lance.

Lance pouted as he crossed his arms. "I do not." He said defensively as he looked back at Keith. Keith only rolled his eyes in response.

"Mmm yes you do," He said simply. "It's not very subtle, y'know."

"You're not very subtle," Lance mumbled back like a child. Keith bit his tongue to stop himself from saying 'I know,' as he looked around the room. His gaze drifted to the other side of the dorm; Lance's side. The Cuban male's side was cluttered with magazines and small packets of food like chips and cookies. Compared to Keith's side of the room, Lance's looked like a tornado, and it was only the first day. Lance noticed where Keith was looking and smirked. "You like what you see?" He asked, getting Keith's attention.

Keith looked back at him quickly. His face was expressionless with a hint of annoyance. "No." He said, leaning forward a bit as he spoke.

Lance looked offended as he smacked his hand over his heart. "How rude!" He said, imitating Stephanie from Full House.

Keith smirked a bit in return. "I know."
