There was a lot that Elle Foster missed out on in her high school experience. Instead of the parties, the romance, or the sports, Elle preferred to stay in her bedroom and listen to falsely invigorating tunes. Now, she was in college, with at least the satisfaction that she had stayed sober. She hadn't technically started yet, but she already considered herself a college student.

Elle was probably about as un-extraordinary as one could get. Throughout high school, her grades were mostly As with a few Bs here and there and that one C in junior Physics that she doesn't ever like to talk about. She was in art club and student council, though she couldn't really call herself committed to either. She had an average amount of friends, with three or four close friends and a cafeteria table and a half full of acquaintances.

Elle Foster was looking to change her image in college. She finally grew out of her freshman lanky body and stepped up her game by getting up thirty minutes earlier than usual to come out of her dorm room looking well-put together.

Today was her first day. She was ready. She would walk out her front door with a spring in her step and a bounce in the curls of her long brown hair. Elle sprayed a dash of perfume on her neck, grabbed her purse, and opened the door.

She remembered to think confidently. Sure, she had some fun times in high school, but college was going to be even better.

Elle Foster was itching to begin her new life with a running start. Maybe not running, since she was wearing high heels and they were particularly difficult to walk in, but at least speed walking.

After fumbling for her keys, she started the car and drove down Alton Avenue, on the way to the sure-to-be most exciting part of her life: Johnston University.

"College," she thought, "here I come!"
