If a girl's life is painted in full grey, described as dull and lonely, quiet and emotionless, what will make her change her mind? The encounter with a boy with bright eyes, with a lively perspective about life, will paint the protagonist's existence with bright colors: "Blank Canvas" is a CPN written by liyelle (also known as "Liya Carbonell"), an aspiring CPN author.
Mirai Kitsuki, the female protagonist, is a kind girl, but friendless and silent and, for this reason, is the main victim of bullies at school. Only the fateful meeting with Akira Surami, a new student in Mirai's class, will turn her life around: popular and handsome, the idol of a fanclub, extrovert and loved by everyone at school, Akira chooses Mirai to hang out with. From a simple event, from a simple art class, friendship is born between the two. A friendship which will flow to the final result of Mirai falling in love with this popular boy, and... of the envy of many fangirls, in particular Tatsuya Nikushimi, the bully leader capable to bring Mirai to the verge of desperation. Everything in her power will be done in order to separate and ruin the happiness and carefree life of the two protagonists.
A plot well-known among readers: shy girl falls in love with popular boy, bullying and jealousy of the antagonist, love triangles and drama. And yet, the author's style is able to narrate the story with a relaxing tone, short sentences, and poetic lines typical for a CPN. The POV changes from 1st and 3rd, exquisite descriptions able to bring the readers to the cardinal, entwining emotions felt by the characters. More than 20 chapters have been published, and this story is already complete.
Many questions arise about Mirai's fate, as well as the other characters: only by reading the narration, until the unexpectable ending, the answers will be given. A recommended read for everyone who has a fancy for love stories, and who wants to read a cell-phone novel with a delicate plot.
