A Friend in Darkness

Prologue Part~1

The battle for Equestria's freedom had raged on for ten long years. Death, agony, and sorrow was common amongst the ponies.

"Sister he is a vermin to pony-kind, he must be exterminated!" Luna screamed, her hoofs collided with the marble of the throne room to emphasize the anger in her heart.

"Calm your self Luna." Celestia was calm but how could she be?

"Our citizens are dying! How can you stay calm?!" Luna's cries echoed in the large empty room. Royal guards were spread amoungst towns to protect what little ponies were left leaving it empty.

"Sombra slays any defense thrown at him with ease! We need a new strategy!" the younger sister could not contain such anger. Just the name left a bitter taste in her mouth.

"We will continue with our battle plans Luna! Now this is the last I will tolerate of your outbursts!" for the first time Celestia lost her temper. "Just because you are my sister, does not mean you can under mind my authority!" her prideful voice shook the walls of the crumpling castle.

Tears weld in Luna's eyes she turned quickly and ran to her room. 'I will need to raise the moon soon' she thought. Keeping her emotions at bay she fled the confinements of her room and rose the moon. 'I can't let her destroy Equestria by wasting men!' Luna thought. 'If she wont save her people, I will!' Luna plotted each move carefully and was soaring through the sky by dawn.

Luna's midnight hair was held tightly in a pony tail [pun intended c;]. An obsidian helmet protected her skull, long armored boots hugged her hoofs and connected with a dark chest plate. 'I'm coming to get you Sombra' she thought darkly 'and I will not sleep until I have ripped your every limb to pieces'.
