A Friend in Darkness

Prologue Part~2

Sombra's dark laugh thundered in the castle of ebony crystals. "Puny Pony you think you can defeat me?!" his laughs grew darker and more unnerving.

Luna lie unmoving on the ground her helmet long forgoton. Cuts sprinkled her cheeks, but she remained stong rage fuled her every movement.

Sombra chuckled, a disturbing noise" You and I could've ruled together, no one understands the night truly."

Luna returned the laugh " And you do?" she asked sarcastically.

"But of course" he replied "the night is the birth place of passions like anger, fear, agony and so on. Your sister tries to control it-"

Luna's abrupt laughter cut him off, the laugh had a sinister touch to it. "You're right. No one truly knows my night!" with her statemeant she charged.

A large heavy mace suspended in air with the help of her magic. She swung it with all her might, Sombra pushed it aside easily with the help of his crystal sword tinted black like the rest of his deadly forces. As a counter attack he threw her against the wall and pinned her to her spot with his dark crystals. He attempted to control her mind and twist her thoughts but before the take over could occur an evil chuckle thundered in the damadged room.

Luna stood slowly, her lids lifting to reveal slits in the place of her once round pupils. Luna drifted over the fine line of her sainty falling into the depths of darkness. In this darkness Luna was caught by Nightmare Moon as her darkside chuckled with glee, Luna's body was shifted into the form of the darkness consuming her. Bones cracked and poped her skin streched and darkened and her mane became a royal blue shifting in every direction, emulating the crazed feeling in her heart. Her half lidded eyes driffted in Sombra's direction

she walked slowly to Sombra. "What have you done?!" his face shifted into fear as she got closer. She chuckled a low noise and slapped him with the butt of her mace. "I have come to reclaim my once beautiful night! You have soiled the beauty of Equestria and brought the ponies to extinction! For your crimes the only punishment, is Death!" Sombra's blade built up speed flying across the room to strike its master but the colision of flesh and steel never sounded. Luna turned, Celestia hovered above the large opening in the ceiling holding the dark glistinging blade.

Luna no longer resembled Nightmare Moon as she gazed upon her sister. "Luna!"

Luna trembled at the mention of her name. Celestia quickly decended to the floor. Luna quickly left Sombra's side however she only reached one foot before being shackled to the ground. Sombra laughed, Celestia's face hardened. " No longer will you rule with such cruelty!" she stated.

"Is that so?" Sombra chuckled "And who will stop me?"

His laughter was scilenced when the Elements of Harmony created a circular rainbow above their heads. Luna soon caught on to the idea and blasted Sombra.

When his spell weakend they walked closer. He lay peacefully and unmoving, "Did it work?" questioned Luna.

"I don't know." Celestia answered.
