POV~ Lynn's Friend
I went down the slide multiple times with Lynn. She was such a nice friend. She was so caring, funny, helpful, and sweet. I hope she won't be mad when I finally tell her.
The other kids make fun of her all the time. It's only her first day here at school at they've already given her some dumb nickname and bullied her. The rest of the year will be bad for Lynn...I wish I could help.
At lunch and when I was yelling at the boys, I wish I could've done more. It made sense why they didn't even look in my direction. I felt even worse when they laughed and teased Lynn about being friends with me. I know why they were doing it but it breaks my heart when I realized I will finally have to tell Lynn the truth.
A/N: I just played music and I completely forgot what I was writing temporarily...whoops! :3
We were racing each other to the slide when Lynn stopped running and gasped. She looked around her and under the slide and all over. I was confused.
"Lynn, what's wrong?" I asked her when she finally stopped running and had to catch her breath.
"I LOST BUBBLEGUM!" She screamed her silver eyes growing wide. She was visibly shaking and I noticed that there were tears beginning to form in her eyes. I forgot why she cared about that hippo for a moment then quickly remembered. It was given to her by her grandma before her grandma had died. I gave her a quick hug and we ran around the playground searching for the stuffed animal. I looked over by the swings and didn't see anything. I checked the blue slide again seeing if Lynn missed a spot because she was so worried. Nothing. I even looked in areas we didn't go to which were the basketball court and the large tree.
I was nearing the tree when I saw Lynn's group of bullies. Jess, Sienna, Lydia, Nathan, and a boy in their class named Thomas. I didn't know if Thomas was mean to Lynn but to be honest no one in that class made her feel welcome. Maybe her teacher. Her teacher was super nice and funny and awesome! I really wish I could be in her class. Not just because of Lynn but for my own reasons.
I eavesdropped on their conversation. It was easy since I was positive that they didn't know I was even remotely close to them. I leaned against the tree and all they talked about was boring things. It was all boring until I heard Christian.
"Hey guys! Look what I found!" The boy ran over to the group holding something that was a light shade of purple. My eyes widened and I covered my mouth with my hands. Christian had found Bubblegum! Some of her stuffing was escaping from a hole in her leg but it wasn't much. One of her button eyes were also popped off the only reason it stayed was because of a loose string connecting Bubblegum and her eye.
"Oh my gosh that thing looks nasty!" Lydia said in disgust.
"Where did you find it?" Jess asked as she took a few steps forward to inspect the hippopotamus.
"Under the slide." He replied turning the hippo around so that it was facing him. "It is in bad condition."
"Wait a second..." Jess' expression turned into a smirk.
Please no! If they realize it's Lynn who knows what they will do with it! I thought reaching my hands in an awful attempt to grab the hippo. It was no use. I couldn't grab it.
"That's Lynn's stuffed animal, what did she say it's name was?" Jess said grabbing the hippo from Christian who attempted to grab it back.
"Gumball? Bubbles? Oh! Bubblegum." Sienna exclaimed. I rolled my eyes. These kids couldn't even remember the hippo's name!
"Where is that loser anyways?" Jess said handing Christian the hippo.
"I think she was running around with her "friend." He said making air quotes with his fingers. Jess rolled her eyes.
