letter two ;

dear hayley,

i remember how happy i was when you actually noticed me. our english teacher paired us up for a project. you had no idea how excited i was. we went over to the table in the back of the classroom and started our projects. i couldn't help but notice how beautiful you looked. your hair was flowing down your back and some strands were in front of your eyes. somehow, you could look so effortlessly gorgeous. i have no idea how you did it. i admired the way that you concentrated so hard while reading the outline for the project. you hadn't talked to me since we were paired up and i was a extremely worried that you didn't like me. it's hard liking someone who doesn't like you back. finally, you talked to me.

"why are you looking at me like that? it's making me freaked out," you said. it wasn't mean or anything. in fact, i was relieved you noticed me. i didn't know how to answer your question so i thought of the first thing that came to my mind every time i saw you.

"because you are beautiful, hayley." you blushed and looked down at your all time low shirt. being the dork that i am, i said, "i like your shirt. all time low is the shit."

you seemed to perk up at this statement. i'm guessing that you were very fond of bands because you launched into a topic that had to do with a lot of different bands, completely forgetting about the project we were supposed to be working on. i loved the way that you could get so lost in a topic. it was absolutely adorable. if i'm being honest, i didn't hear half of the things you said. i was too busy watching you laugh at your own jokes and getting so involved in all these different bands. it was amazing how you would get so engrossed in a conversation (mainly with yourself) and not care about everything else around you. i never understood how someone could be mean to you. in my eyes, you were perfect. english class went by very quickly. i didn't see you much after class was over. we still had no idea what we were going to do for our project but i didn't care because as long as i had you for a partner, things we going to turn out fine. when lunch came around, you sat with a small group of friends all the way across the cafeteria from me. i made eye contact with you and you gave me a small wave. all it took to get you to finally notice me was our english teacher pairing us up for a project. i really wanted to sit by you but my friends were talking to me so i had to stay and listen to their stupid conversation. i really wish i did sit with you. lunch would have been better. you always seem to make things better.

love,

luke hemmings xx
