"Iced Caramel Latte for Min-Seo?" The barista called out
She looked up from her phone and went over to the counter, "thank you" she took one sip and went out the door. The sun was shining brightly now, unlike before when a big cloud covered the sun's warm rays. She took one step to the right as she left Lucky Cat Café. She accidentally bumped into someone and she watched as her drink fall in slow motion on the man. "YA! Watch where you're going you fucking idiot" he glared at her as he furiously tried to wipe the beverage off of him
"I'm so sorry, here let me help"
"No, don't touch me, this was a new outfit!"
"I'll pay you back"
"Judging by the way you dress, I don't think you can really afford to"
Through gritted teeth, she replied, "Look I'm sorry. But let me know if I can do anything to repay you" she backed away and turned her heel to get ready to make a run for it
"Not so fast, where do you think you're going?"
"To my campus, I have to attend my classes"
"Campus?"
"Yeah, at Aroha University"
"Oh, so you're one of those smart broads huh?"
"Well I don't know about that term 'broad', but -"
"Would you feel better if I called you a bimbo?"
She rolled her eyes, "my name is Min-Seo"
"I didn't ask for your name"
"Aren't you a ray of sunshine. Anyways, why do you care that I go to Aroha University?"
"why? Let's just say I'm ready to cash in that repayment"
"Already?"
"What do you mean already?"
"I mean usually people wait, I don't know, like a few hours until they cash in a favor of some kind. You know after they did something wrong?"
"Eh, what do you know about favors?"
"Apparently more than you" she gave a smirk
"Listen here, I don't need to listen to you and your stupid advice or whatever, I need you to listen close cause I'm only gonna say this once, a'ight?"
She shifts her weight from one foot to the other, "mmhmm"
"So your school is one of those, can't-come-in-without-a-student-id kind of school right?"
"Right"
"Yeah well I'm gonna need you to find this kid for me"
"What's his name?"
"His name is Lee Chang-ho"
"Ok, well what do you want from him?"
"That's none of your business alright? Just find the kid and simply bring him to me. Simple enough right?"
"What are you going to do to him?"
"Nothin, I just wanna talk to him. Ya know, pal to pal. Or you can always try to pay me back"
She stood there thinking about it, but it's not like she has much of a choice. The bell rang in the far distance signaling it that class has started.
"Tik Tok. Tik Tok"
"Just to talk to him right?"
"Just to talk to him. You have my word"
"I'll see what I can do. Meet us at the school garden at 4 pm"
"Atta girl"
"First of all, don't talk to me like I'm your dog."
"And second of all?" He asked with crossed arms and an amused smirk plastered on his face
"There is no second of all. Stop talking to me like I'm your dog and that's it"
He threw his head back as he laughed, "I like you dolly, you got spunk"
"What's with you and giving me nicknames?"
"Force of habits toots, now go to your high maintenance university"
"Don't worry I was already leaving"She turned around and sped walked away from the main street. A million thoughts swam around in her head. What was his deal? What's with those awfully weird nicknames? And why did the nicknames sound like something someone from the Italian mafia would say? Why am I thinking about him right now? Oh god. Whatever let's just hurry to campus.
By the time she reached the university, first period was nearly over. She sighed and checked her schedule, 223 Psychology. She wandered the halls aimlessly until she reached room 223. She, along with another student has arrived late to that class. They both sat in the middle row, where there were two empty seats next to each other. The professor continued to write the lesson on the blackboard.
"Guess we're both late huh? I'm Chang-ho, Lee Chang-ho" He stuck out his hand for her to shake it but she just looked at it and proceeded to sit down.
"So you're Chang-ho?"
"Yeah, why?"
"No reason, I just have a friend who has to ask you something"
"Is this friend of yours a guy or girl?" He asked carefully.
"Why does it matter?"
"Just being cautious. I don't really do well with associating with guys. I have a nasty habit of making male foes" He looked around and replied in a hushed tone.
"Really? Um right well anyways, just meet me outside at the garden at 4 pm"
"Busy" He responded without looking away from the board
"I beg your pardon?"
"I'm gonna be busy"
"Please?" She pleaded
"Fine whatever" He replies while rolling his eyes.
She smiled and opened her laptop to type down the notes.
