Talia's POV
I slowly pushed myself up, my head throbbing from the hangover. As I squinted against the glaring sun, I realized someone else was lying in bed with me. My heart racing, I lifted the sheet and gasped when I saw we were both naked. Did we actually...do it? No, no way. But then, something scraped against my leg. I looked down and saw a golden ring on my finger, adorned with diamond in the center and silver around the edges. It was a real gold ring, and it looked expensive.
I turned my attention to the stranger next to me, and my eyes locked on his wedding ring. My heart sank, realizing this was no coincidence. I had a husband, and he was lying beside me. I didn't want to look at him yet, so I grabbed my phone from the nightstand to check the time. But then, I saw something that made my stomach drop. There was a marriage certificate lying beside it. I read it over and over, but the words never changed.
Talia McIntosh, wife of Sean McIntosh.
I couldn't help it, I screamed at the top of my lungs. It was as if the entire neighborhood could hear me. I was married to my half-sister's boyfriend, and I had no idea how to explain this to her. If she found out, she would surely kill me on the spot. She was a gang leader, after all.
"Where am I?" I heard the stranger mutter, his voice thick with confusion. "And why are you naked?"
"I don't know," I snapped, annoyed. But soon enough, he too discovered our predicament.
"Shit," he muttered. "How the fuck did this happen?"
"We were drunk," I said, recalling only bits and pieces of the previous night.
"What are we going to tell Katlin?" I asked, dreading her reaction.
"We're not going to tell her," he said, taking charge of the situation.
"But she'll find out eventually," I protested.
"I know, but let's just keep it between us for now," he replied, looking at me with a hint of a smirk on his face.
"Don't you dare call me 'babe'," I threatened, even though I knew I couldn't actually file for divorce. It would cause a scandal for my family, especially considering my father was the prime minister.
"Not before I do," he shot back, the smirk on his face growing wider.
Just then, my phone started ringing, and the caller ID read 'Katlin'. I cursed under my breath before reluctantly answering.
"Hello?" I said, my voice shaking.
"Hey sis, have you possibly seen my man this morning?" Katlin's voice boomed through the phone.
"Why would I have seen him?" I asked, trying to sound nonchalant.
"Just checking," she said, a hint of amusement in her voice. "He owes me money, and if I see him, I'm gonna blow his head off."
"Oh...okay," I said, trying to keep the panic out of my voice.
"Guess what?" Katlin said suddenly.
"What?" I asked, my heart racing.
"I'm outside your door. Come open it," she said, her tone leaving no room for argument.
"Shit," I muttered under my breath, turning to face the stranger lying beside me. "Hide in the closet," I hissed, pointing towards the doors.
"Okay, okay," he said, rushing to stuff himself inside and crushing my meeting dress in the process. I mentally cursed him, but put on a smile as I went to open the door.
"Hey!" I said, trying to sound casual as Katlin barged into my house.
"Why aren't you ready?" she asked with a hint of suspicion in her tone.
