We were on Pluto!
I saw all the little Plutonians running around, going about their daily business.
"Help! Help! Save me! Over here! It's me! Paisley!" I shrieked and called to them. But they didn't seem to see or notice me at all. It looked like they didn't even see the ship.
Then I remembered something a guard had told me a while ago: this ship, when parked, would turn invisible--making me, of course, invisible too.
No! This was a nightmare come true! I had to get out! I was so close!
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Chad walk around the corner. He had someone's hand in his. I focused my eyes to see farther and I was shocked to see that by his side was Queen Eliana! They were--holding hands?
Chad's Point of View
Standing here with Violet was the best feeling I had had in years. Her hand in mine made me forget all the terrible things that had happened. I looked into her beautiful eyes. I had looked into them so many times, but this one was by far one of the most painful.
"I can't believe we haven't been together in so long, dear." It felt wonderful to call her that instead of everyone else.
She put her perfectly soft hand on my cheek. I hadn't felt such a loving touch in so long. "I know, Chad. I've missed you." Her eyes brimmed with tears.
"Remember why we did this. It isn't safe. Nowhere is safe, especially not with him around. If he hurt you--or-or if he hurt little Charles; I don't know what I would do."
She began to cry and I had to stiffen up. I breathed out. I am in charge of my family. I know what am doing.
It was painful, but with him out there, nowhere was truly safe.
"We had to send Charles away, you know, and we had to fake your death. He would have gotten to you by now if not for the Princess. From what I remember, he was terrible and wicked. And that's only what I know." My eyes burned. I couldn't cry. As much as this was painful, I had to stay cruel; if I was soft, Neptunians would easily be overpowered.
Violet looked into my eyes. Her face was small and delicate, like a dainty, just-bloomed flower. "And the little girl, you sent her home?"
My heart ached; I hated lying to her. Instead, I avoided the question.
"I have to go." I turned my head, dropped her hands, and walked to back to the ship.
