Meetings. Why Such A Tormenting Name?

Shortly after potions class, me, Bella Woodbridge and my best friend, Cortessa Livmatre parted ways, I was walking to DADA (Defence Against the Dark Arts) and Tessa to Divination.

DADA was an interesting subject. A lady with a brown bob and pink clothing was standing at the front of the classroom.

"All right class. Today our topic is about Half breeds, and their dangers to society. My name is Dolores Umbridge, but please, call me Professor Umbridge." She smiled sourly as she wrote in big chalk letters, Half Breeds. Already all the students in the class could see no one would like this pompous, fat lady in pink. "Now to start off with, let's explain what a half breed is! They are non true wizards and witches with one wizarding parent and one filthy Muggle." Bella could see the girl with strawberry blonde hair fuming beside her. She suddenly stood up in her seat. "Opal Riverstone, sit down immediately." Umbridge said. So that's what her name was!

"Yes, my name is Opal Riverstone, and I am disgusted that someone of such high position in the Ministry, would express the strong opinion about halfbreeds to a class full of them! Halfbreeds are amazing and powerful people, and don't you dare say otherwise." Opal said angrily, her cheeks red. Wow, this girl had fire!

"Opal Riverstone, detention for 2 days. As I was saying...." Umbridge began. The girl with light brown hair and brown eyes stood up too. She obviously agreed. But this Opal girl did have a point. You shouldn't judge people due to their blood or breed. The girl stood.

"This is unfair. Leave halfbloods alone! On a recent wizard statistic, 90% Of wizards that were halfbloods actually were smarter than the other competitors in a OWLS test." The girl said defiantly.

"Sasha, Opal detention for both of you." Umbridge said getting annoyed. So Sasha was her name! Then two more girls  stood.

"If you want to put them in detention, put us all in!" The class cheered (except for a couple of pure blood Slytherin). Even Draco Malfoy was clapping lightly.

"End Of Class!" Umbridge cried. "Professor Dumbledore shall hear of your behaviour!" Professor Umbridge stalked out. Wow! I knew I had to meet these girls then and there.

"Hey! Wait up!" I said. I caught up to them. "Opal, Sasha, and— I didn't quite catch your name?" I said to the third girl who had stood up.

"Esmerelle Anderson." She said, giving me a hug. And a Hollywood style double kiss on the cheeks.

"You girls really had fire out there! That was incredible!" I said, completely and absolutely impressed.

"We stood up for what was right." Said Opal simply. "And if you'll excuse us, we have detention to get to." She said, stalking off. Then she stopped. And staggered back a little. "There he is! Draco Malfoy! Ooohhh!" She said, putting her hand to her head.

"You like him?" Said Esmerelle. "He's my mum's, mum's, sister's, daughter and husband's son!" She said. We all gave her weird looks. "What? It just makes it sound fancier." She said questionably. We all nodded. "In other words," she continued. "He's my second cousin."

"What?" Said Opal, astounded. "I'm your new best friend!" She said, sounding a lot happier. Esmerelle smiled.

"Eeeeerrrr..." Said Sasha uncertainly. "Don't we have to get to detention?" They all nodded glumly.

"I'll walk with you there, if you want?" I said. Opal and Sasha nodded. "Please do!" They chorused. Esmerelle went to the Slytherin common room. So we walked to detention together. When we got there, we had to wait ten minutes for Professor Umbridge to get there. She finally arrived.

"Now, let us discuss what exactly you have done to deserve such detention." Umbridge said, sitting down. "Sasha Cunningham you ha-." Umbridge was stopped mid sentence when Argus Filch entered her office, carrying Esmerelle in the scruff of her neck.

"Dolores, Esmerelle here has chosen to blow up a whole wall of the Slytherin Common Room."

"It was an accident! My potion backfired!" Esmerelle protested sulkily.

"Silence! Now I think Miss Esmerelle here would be better handled with you don't you think Dolores?" Filch said, itching his head.

"I would be happy to take her too, Argus. We will see to them all." Umbridge said, smiling mischievously. The door closed and Umbridge continued her 'lecture'. "As I was saying, we need to give out various consequences for your foolish acts. Opal, you started a protest that was based on untrue evidence. Sasha, you were the second person to join this diabolical, unnecessary protest about Half Breeds. And Esmerelle, you blew up half of the Slytherin Common Room on sheer enjoyment." Umbridge continued.

"It was an accident!" Esmerelle cried. "I am sure I didn't ask you to talk, Esmerelle Anderson." Umbridge lifted out a engraved apple green quill. "I think the best way for you to change your sinful ways would be to write on your hands! That way it will never be forgotten!"

"But everyone knows that ink washes off in the shower!" Sasha said.

"Oh no, but not this one. This pen is special." The colour was draining from Opal's face. She knew already what lay ahead. She was going to warn Sasha and Esmerelle, but it was too late. Opal had already been dragged into a room leading off from Umbridge's office.

"Help me, someone" Opal said quietly, looking at the girls desperately. Opal screamed as the red hot quill started to write into her skin. Umbridge acted as if nothing was happening. "Stop! Please just stop, stop!!" Opal kept screaming.

"If you keep screaming, it'll get worse." Umbridge said, smiling sourly.

"Stop! I will not allow this to continue!" I burst into the room screaming. I lifted the pen out of Professor Umbridge's grasp with my powers.

"Too late." She smiled. I looked at Opal's hand. The words had formed a sentence. 'I will never lie.' It read. I smiled a sinister smile at Umbridge. I lifted everything up in the air from the room with the flick of my wrist.

"Opal! Run!" I said. I dropped everything down again, much to Professor Umbridge's amazement. I flew out of the room with her.

"Get back here you pesky little 5th formers!" Yelled Umbridge.

"Now," I said. still up in the air, flying above the running girls. "For Draco Malfoy." I smiled again to myself.
