Grow Up

My childhood days were the most wondrous days,

That if I could turn back time I'd try every single way.

If only I can soar like Wendy or Peter Pan,

Or somehow find my way to Neverland.

I would love to join the Lost Boys,

Or maybe be their queen,

As long as I get to escape from being a teen.

I miss playing with Barbie dolls and Teddy Bears,

And not going through thick text books I can hardly bear.

I want to play pretend,

And go back to Wonderland.

I want to be a child again,

And go back to singing and dancing in the rain.

I want to roll around on the grass,

And get mud on my dress.

No! No dresses,

They bring a lot of hassles.

I don't want to be graceful,

I just want to have fun.

Go wild and be crazy,

Without being judged by anyone.

As I recollect back those days,

The memories slowly fade away.

But growing up is inescapable,

So we brace ourselves for the unpredictable.
