Lucas

"When I was young I lived in a small hut. It wasnt much but it was enough for me, my mom, Sue, my dad, and my 2 sisters. We were really happy. My dad used to work as a street vendor selling, fruits, vegetables and all that other stuff. My mom worked at a local bakery with the best baker in the town at that time. I often visited my parents after training since my parents couldn't afford school but could afford my training lessons. My mother often sang in and out of the bakery and sometimes she would sing for my money. She got paid very well.

Everyone loved her singing and she taught me and sisters how to sing and everyday she would sing the song you were just singing. She loved singing it and i loved hearing it. She said when I grow up, I must find myself somebody who loves singing just as much as she does." I told her. She looked at me as we were walking with sad eyes.

"What happened to her? Is she still alive?" She asked with her eyes saddening waiting for me to tell her. I was on the verge of crying and I shook my head. Tears streamed along my cheeks and when I opened my eyes I saw her crying as well. She looked at the floor as she regretted asking me. She looked as if she could feel my pain. Tears were streaming down her face constantly. I stopped and turned her towards me.

Jenny

I always get emotional when I hear stories like this, maybe too emotional. I tried to calm myslef down but i couldn't tears kept steaming down my face then Lucas turned me towards him. I was a little shocked. He looked at my face and instantly hugged me. He held me tight and I didn't want him to let go.

"I'm sorry for asking that question and I'm sorry for crying. I get really emotional when I hear sad stories." I chuckled a bit.

"I can tell but I'm glad at least you can see how painful it was." He said with a small smile. We travelled I bit in silence then I smelled the delicious smell of chicken. I stopped to savour the smell. Lucas looked at me and started laughing.

"What, you can't blame me. The smell is appetizing." I told him with a grin. He laughed a bit more.

"Come on. I know where that appetizing smell is coming from." He said quoting my words and I just laughed. I followed him into the village. Everything was festive. There were decorations on each and every building, some dancers were dancing around everyone and people were dressed up for a festival.

"They are dressed up for Moonalia night. During the day people where bright and radiant colours but a night they wear colours like midnight blue, navy blue, white and other night colours. I've been to this festival and it is truly amazing. If you want we can  stay and experience it."

I looked at all the people and their hopes and dreams go into this festival.  Their feelings and memories are being let out there. Just for this one night.

"Yes I definitely want to experience this." I said looking at everyone and everything. I felt happy that people were doing this, just to help them cope.

"What's wrong? You look like you are lost." He said looking worried. Little did he know I could feel everyone's feelings and emotions. It was really overwhelming but i really wanted to see Moonalia night.

"Oh nothing but I'm just really tired." It looked like he didnt believe me but he let it go anyway. We went to a small house near the town square. Lucas knocked on the door and a middle aged woman let us in.

"Lucas oh thank Moon." The woman seemed happy to see him. When she saw me.

"Who is this beautiful young lady?" She asked inspecting me.

"This is Jenny. She is from outta town." He said easily.

"Well hello Jenny I am Lanaya, Lucas' aunt. It is very nice to meet you." She said shaking my hand.
