Chapter 10: A Fire Within Our Souls

                            Fire in a fire, that's interesting. Fate and Guardian rushed to the scene, as quick as can be. "Where are they Fate?" He said in a emotionless tone. I wish I can hate myself, but I can't. I need my soul back. The light blue alien was scavenging the wreckage. Being as careful as possible, Fate searched more. Yet, there was still no sign of the Holly and Felix. Felix might have a teleporter on him. They might have escaped. If they did not, then maybe this flare can get their attention. The weather had been kind to him today, there was no wind. Easy shot, and the sky is getting dark. I just hope they can see it from all this fire. 

                               As if the ground was a quiver, Guardian summoned the earthly elements. Combined with the heavenly elements, they formed a light. He focused upon this light to create an arrow. As it would be thought to take minutes, in reality, it only took a moment. Sparking the arrow on the ground made it a flare. Fire reached closer and closer to him. The smoke grew dense and stifled him. This threw off his aim. Still, he shot the flare.

                               With the smoke being so thick, he decided it was time to go. Fate, however, thought otherwise. "Guardian, we must keep on with the search." The search was still unsuccessful. He won't see that they are not here! With him like this, we will be dead! Guardian went behind him and grabbed his teleporter. "Sorry Fate, but they are gone." He grabbed Fate and pressed the button.

                               They had teleported, but not home. That's odd, we should have teleported home. Why are we in this place. Matter of fact, what is this place? "Something's wrong with the teleporter. I think it is jammed, all of them. The others would have saw my flare before. Since they didn't return home, I bet they also got to a different place." The archer pressed a button on his suit. Chameleon program, just a prototype, didn't have much time to work on it. His suit transformed into regular clothes. Fate also activated his program. Although, it didn't cover his face. So, he had a hood on. "Whatever you do, don't talk to people." Guardian reminded Fate.

                                Being an alien, Fate has a different voice. "If I have too, I could make up an excuse. I could say, I have a cold or I was a former smoker." Well, guess that makes sense. They walked to a bar. The place wasn't busy that day. There were about four people, plus the bartender. Both of them sat down. The bartender was cleaning a glass out with a towel. He walked over to the two. "Hello, What can I get you two?" Guardian felt like something was wrong. Something isn't right here. "I'll have a beer and he isn't having any thing." The man went and got a glass of beer. Guardian only saw a glimpse of it, but there was a label on the beer. For Guardian only. 

                                  He got the drink. Some other person came over. It's a trap. Emotions got in the way of my intelligence. I know what I should do. Fate looked around and soon noticed too. "You gonna drink that?" Guardian smiled and laughed softly. "If you checked my I.D. it would have done you better." He took the glass and smashed the bartender's head with it. The others got up and went over. Two of them had red in their eyes and one had red skin. Hellhounds, again? When will they give up? They both transformed into hellhounds. This time, the hounds were all on fire. "Oh sh-" Flames shot at them. 

                                   Guardian deactivated his chameleon program and took out his bow. With his power, he created multiple arrows--all with holy water--and shot them. The hounds resisted, and got back to their feet. Fate simply took his blade out and disintegrated them. Interesting, I did not know he could do that. "Well, that was easy. Let's go back to the house. I bet we can locate them from there." The alien agreed.
