Bet. We were just a bet. Derek never liked you. You were stupid for thinking he did. You and him were just a bet.
"Hey, babe." Derek says as he places a kiss on your cheek. You shrugged him off of you, continuing to do the work on the board. 'Just a bet'
Your two best friends sat next to you, making sure Derek wouldn't get a seat near you. You frowned at them, passing a note when the teacher wasn't paying attention.
'I need to get out of here'
The one on the right nodded her head, and the one on the left walked up to the teacher to create a distraction. "Go, dumbass." The one on the right said.
You collected your things, and swiftly bolted out of the door. Derek turned towards your friends who were both sitting down "Why is she ignoring me?"
"The bet."
Derek bolted out of the door, the teacher calling after him. The class looked around, and when they didn't see you as well, they knew something happened. You two were the school's cutest couple.
You threw your stuff in your locker, grabbing Derek's hoodie and throwing it to the ground. The locker slammed shut, and you left the school as swiftly as you could. You knew about Derek being a werewolf, so you knew that he had your scent.
"Y/N! Please, wait!" Derek called after you.
You plugged your earbuds in, blasting music. You flicked him off, continuing to run. Derek placed his hand on your shoulder, stopping you in your tracks. You rolled your eyes, pulling an earbud out of your ear. You didn't turn around, but stopped the music playing. "What the hell do you want, Derek?"
"J-Just listen, okay?" You scoffed, crossing you arms "I'm kind of trying to skip at the moment. Go talk to your friends, humor them."
You turned your back on him, pulling at the sleeves of your shirt. Derek didn't stop there, he continued to follow you. "Please, Y/N."
"I was stupid, Derek. I'm the school outcast, you're the popular basketball player. Were opposites, completely different. I was so stupid for thinking that you liked me." You told him
"I wont lie to you, Y/N. You were a bet, a bet that was supposed to end months ago, and went too far. Look, I was supposed to be with you for two months, I didn't end it because I actually liked you. You understand me, you weren't afraid that i was a monster. You liked me for me, and that means you're insane."
You let out a laugh "Did you just figure that out, Derek?"
"No, i figured that out like, two days ago. When you started screaming random words out during class, how was detention, by the way?"
"Derek, thats not the point."
"Right, look im sorry, okay? I didn't mean to hurt you. That bet went too far, and I should have told you."
"It's fine, i guess. Can we go now, I hate school."
Derek takes your hand "Let's get the hell out of here."
