As I stomped out of Dumbledore's office, Snape behind me, I turned around sharply stopping both of our movements.

"Why was he ignoring me?," I demanded, shoving my finger directly into his chest. "You being his cloaked accomplice, I'm sure you know,"

"For one, You will continue to refer to me with respect as I am your professor," He pushed my hand away and it fell limply to my side "And second of all, you know just as much as I do Black, his unpredictability baffles us all,"

It was an ideal night to be late to the feast, I walked in along side Snape expecting there to be chatter much like every year  but lo and behold, thousands of faces were ghostly white and shell shocked. Dumbledore was standing side by side a short chubby lady dressed in all pink, and as always he surprised me beating us to the hall. I hesitantly walked inside, trying to match Snapes stride, and took place at the Gryffindor table.

"-Because some changes will be for the better, while others will come, in the fullness of time, to be recognized as errors of judgement. Meanwhile, some old habits will be retained, and rightly so, whereas others, outmoded and outworn, must be abandoned. Let us move forward, then, into a new era of openness, effectiveness, and accountability," The toad like lady took a long sharp breath with an ugly smile "Intent on preserving what ought to be preserved, perfecting what ought to be perfected, and pruning wherever we find practices that ought to be prohibited,"

Dumbledore clapped and the staff followed his lead very dully.

"Certainly illuminating," Hermione noted, her eyes squinting down at the table and then meeting mine.

"I came at the end but whatever I missed seems to be irrelevant, the end explained quite a bit," I put my elbows up onto the table and shook my head solemnly.

"It sounded like a load of waffle to me," Harry laughed

"Well how about the important stuff? 'pruning wherever we find practices that ought to be prohibited' You can't tell me you don't know what she means," I frowned, my mind began to race.

"Well even so, Amortia and I can certainly tell you what it means," Hermione said grimly. "It means the ministry is interfering at Hogwarts,"

There was loud banging and clattering around the great hall, Dumbledore had obviously dismissed the school.

"Ron we're supposed to show the first years where to go," Hermione reminded him as he began to turn to Harry in conversation.

"Oh yeah!," He had obviously forgotten

I was on my way up to the Gryffindor common room along side Harry. We were both fumming, angry towards the ministry and their harsh actions. The Tri-Wizard tournament last year is the result of the ministry barging into Hogwarts. With Lord Voldemort's return, the ministry had not believed Harry and I with the accounts of what happened last year in the graveyard.

I realized Harry was way ahead of me speaking to Neville who had just opened the common room door. My thoughts had kept me behind as I slowly caught up and walked in through the portrait.

"Hello Dean, " Harry and I said at once as the boys split off and went to their own dorms.

I was heading up to the female dormitory while loud shouting came down from the male door. I figured they were just being rowdy as a return day. It was quiet, many of the females had already laid in bed for the night or ones like Hermione- were studying their course books already and lists as a prefect.

I got into my four poster, ignoring the glares from Lavender and closed the covers around the bed and laid back.

It was dark and the room was muggy and damp. I couldn't see where I was going or who was talking but I was not alone. I leaned against the wall, feeling my way to a door that had a glittering knob and light at the bottom of the crack. I reached it and voices filled my head.

"They will be joining us soon, master," A wheezy voice cried "Forced or not,"

"You will give me their servitude, Wormtail. Or you will pay. Do not fail me," A horrifyingly familiar voice rumbled "Speaking of which, we have a guest,"

The door hinges flew off and I was left exposed to Voldemort and his servant. He raised his wand at me with an ugly snake like smile, jolting me awake.
